Remagen (Ludendorff) Bridge, captured by LTC Leonard Engeman (note the first name!) of the 9th Armored Division on 7 March 1945. Control of Remagen allowed for the establishment of a bridgehead across the Rhine River and made possible the movement of 6 Divisions (25,000 troops) and their associated weapons, tanks, and artillery. Landed back in BOS on 31 October. Had a fantastic trip to Greece and Germany. It's a big ole goofy world out there. People are so interesting and good.

Greek Freak in the Athens Airport.
Hoisting a stein in the Munich airport.
Series of pictures of the Kölner Dom (Cathedral in Cologne). Spectacular structure that affirms man’s hope to reach the heavens. Construction began in 1248.

Went to mass this morning (Sunday, 26 October) in the cathedral. Very impressive. Six altar boys. Six priests. Incense. 3963 pipes in the church organ. Multiple nations represented by the readers of the gospels and musicians for the hymns.

Later toured the cathedral and climbed to the top. Hence, the scenic shots of the city.
