EcoGuinea Foundation

EcoGuinea Foundation We've helped families in Guinea West Africa since 2000. It is time to tackle bigger projects that address sanitation and energy needs.

This is why we are partnering with Pangea Builders to build a sustainable earthship library in 2018. Projects Under Development
Project 1: Sustainable Earthship Library
Students need a comfortable library to study, research and learn. This is not normally a part of schools in Guinea where students must often go to the airport at night to study under the available lights. EcoGuinea Foundation is pa

rtnering with Pangea Builders to build a much-needed library for a high school in Conakry, Guinea's capital. The Earthship Library is a super sustainable building completely off-grid and built with recycled materials. This build will include strong community involvement in the neighborhood of Yimbaya and students from the US will be travelling to Guinea to learn and help. We are fundraising for a two week build in the spring of 2018. Project 2
EcoCenter: A Training and Enterprise Community Center
The government has offered the EcoGuinea Foundation one hector (2.47 acres) of land in Conakry, Guinean’s capital, to build a base and cultural/community center. This will include a working permaculture farm and the building of several sustainable structures based on the principles of earthships that use discarded materials like bottles, cans and tires to build self-sustaining buildings. The government will even bring hundreds of used tires for the foundation of the buildings. This will be an educational center where Guineans (or anyone) can come and learn the skills needed to become as self-sustaining and sufficient as possible in their homes, schools and villages.
