Mainly operating from Broken Hill and Dubbo via a modern fleet of specially-equipped aircraft, the South Eastern Section brings primary healthcare and 24-hour emergency cover to people in thousands of people

a year. We also provide contracted 24/7 aviation support to health partners in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. For 24-hour medical emergency help you can call the Flying Doctor directly on (08) 80 88 11 88. This number is to be used ONLY in an emergency if you do not have access to hospital services in your local area. You can also call 000, or go to a hospital emergency department. For non-emergency patient transport call the Dubbo Operations Centre on 1300 612 000, which is staffed 24/7. The Clive Bishop Medical Centre in Broken Hill is a fully accredited medical practice and provides a range of health care services. The CBMC is open 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. If you are having suicidal thoughts, you need to stay safe, send for help and have someone remain with you (if able, or on the phone) until further help arrives. To talk to someone, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the NSW rural 24 hour mental health crisis line 1800 011 511.

What a great day at the Rural Health Pathways Showcase!

Our team has spent the day meeting hundreds of NSW students exploring future careers in healthcare and sharing the many rewarding pathways available in rural and remote health.

The conversations we get to have with students at events like this helps inspire the next generation of doctors, nurses, dentists, mental health professionals and so many others who will help care for our rural and remote communities in the future.

Thank you to Rural Doctors Network (RDN) for hosting such a fantastic event and creating opportunities for students to connect directly with rural health professionals.

Expect free BBQ, family fun activities, live entertainment and relaxed yarns with 30+ health, wellbeing and community organisations, including our mental health and lung screening info team. Come along, have a chat, have some fun, and help shape wellbeing support in Gulgong 🤝

42 amazing people ran in the TCS Sydney Marathon yesterday, raising money for the RFDSSE. Thank you to the runners who gave it their all across the 42km route and our volunteers who worked tirelessly across the entire day. An incredible $135,000 has been raised so far!🏃🎖️

Big shout out to our fastest runners Craig Gear who finished in 3 hours, 3 minutes and 11 seconds followed very closely by Tom Parish 3 minutes and one second later. Special mention goes to Chris Fyvie who set the record for the fastest marathon by a man with a subcutaneous defibrillator in 3 hours, 36 minutes and 27 seconds.

What a powerhouse bunch!💪

Ask Broken Hill local and Engineer Hamish Curtis what his role consist of and you'll often hear that in response… followed by a cheeky smile. Hamish's love of engineering, aircraft and the RFDS in general is infectious, as his colleagues can vouch for 🤝🔧

He's part of the well-oiled machine diagnosing, treating and keeping our aircraft healthy - kind of like the hangar-equivalent of our docs and nurses! Say g'day to Hamish in the comments 👋

That's how much the Mundi Mundi Bash raised for the RFDS South Eastern Section this year. Bashers got muddy at the Undi Run, melodic at the Bash Choir, got lucky at the raffle and dug deep for our auction 🕺
