Berlin bound 📍

AMPAL CEO Damian Rinaldi is in Berlin this week attending ICMP’s Music Minds, joining global leaders in music publishing for a series of key discussions shaping the future of our sector.

Damian will speak on the ICMP Expert Group - Industry Metrics panel and convene a roundtable of music publisher associations from around the world to discuss shared priorities.

At a time of rapid change across AI, data and licensing, these global forums are critical to ensuring the voice of Australasian music publishers is represented and heard.

We look forward to sharing insights from Berlin in the weeks ahead.

From Ibiza to Berlin: Australian music publishers step into global music rights conversations.

Fourteen Australian music publishers will attend some of the world’s leading music industry conferences in 2026 through the Music Australia International Conference Contribution (MAICC) program, administered by AMPAL (Australasian Music Publishers’ Association Limited).

The initiative supports Australian publishers to attend major international gatherings - building relationships with global rights organisations, licensing partners and creative markets.

The latest round of funding will see music publishers participate in major international gatherings including IMS Ibiza, Classical:NEXT in Budapest, A2IM (American Association of Independent Music) Indie Week in New York, the Independent Music Publishers International Forum (IMPF) Global Music Summit in Spain, Amsterdam Dance Event, All That Matters in Singapore, WOMEX and ICMP Music Minds Berlin.

AMPAL CEO Damian Rinaldi said international engagement remains essential for the sector.

“International conferences provide critical opportunities for Australian publishers to build relationships, develop licensing partnerships and ensure our repertoire is represented in global markets.”

This project is assisted by the Australian Government through Music Australia.
