The MBA Group Training Scheme is a not-for-profit company, which employs apprentices, trainees and other staff to provide structured training opportunities (particularly in the Building and Construction industries) through rotation with a range of host employers -many of which are small companies that do not have the capacity to recruit and train apprentices and trainees themselves. Hosted with as a first-year apprentice, Hayden has already made a huge impression onsite with his great initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to always stay busy and help wherever needed. His supervisor says he’s consistently one of the busiest apprentices on site!

4 career expos. 3 massive days. Over 7,000 students. 🔥

Last week the NMBA Apprentices team hit the road, connecting with the next generation of tradies and chatting all things apprenticeships, career pathways, and opportunities beyond the tools. 👷‍♂️⚡

From hands-on trades to the many career paths that support the building and construction industry, it was awesome to see so many students excited about their futures.

Our “Pin the PPE on the Apprentice” game was also an absolute hit 😂🦺

Last Friday we officially opened the doors to the new home of Newcastle Master Builders Apprentices 🔨

What a fantastic morning spent hearing from local and federal ministers, MBA representatives, industry leaders and the many special guests who helped bring this vision to life and invest in the future of NMBA Apprentices.

The room was filled with great conversation, new connections and plenty of excitement about the future of apprenticeships across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter and surrounding regions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting new chapter, we can’t wait to continue building the future of our industry together.

Electricity is a serious workplace hazard but with the right precautions, incidents are preventable. In line with Safe Work guidelines, always ensure:

⚡️ Equipment is regularly inspected and tested
⚡️ Damaged cords or tools are removed from service immediately
⚡️ Only licensed workers carry out electrical work
⚡️Power is isolated before maintenance or repairs
⚡️Residual Current Devices (RCDs) are used where required

Stay alert, follow procedures, and never take shortcuts when it comes to electrical safety. Your safety and your team’s depends on it.

After just one week in our scholarship program, Luke has already made a strong impression earning himself a full-time apprenticeship with our host, Lachie from .electrical

Having completed his own apprenticeship through MBA, Lachie knows first hand the value of the journey and what it takes to succeed - both as an apprentice and now as a mentor.
