Last Friday, we had the privilege of bringing together Rohingya community representatives from the Rohingya United Youth Network, Rohingya Community of Queensland Rohingya Community Queensland (RCQ), Burmese Rohingya Association in Queensland Australia (BRAQA), and the Australian Rohingya Council (ARC) to meet with Multicultural Australia and discuss the needs and aspirations of the Rohingya community.

We sincerely thank Multicultural Australia for their time, openness, and genuine commitment to listening, connecting, and supporting the community. This is just the beginning, with some exciting initiatives on the horizon.

At IWA Australia, we believe that successful settlement doesn't happen in isolation. It takes a strong network of community organisations, government, and service providers working together to create a supportive ecosystem where people can truly belong, thrive, and integrate into Australian society. Together, we are stronger.

Feeling heartbroken reading this. So many lives lost, so many still missing… 💔

We can’t look away. Please take a moment to read, share, and stand in solidarity with those affected. Every voice matters.

The UN and International Organization for Migration said about 250 people, including children, are feared missing.
