Orchestra Brisbane appoints Sean O'Boyle AM as 'Cultural Ambassador'.
Orchestra Brisbane is proud to announce that internationally renowned composer Sean O'Boyle (OAM) will join the Orchestra in the role of 'Orchestral Ambassador'.

Classical music lovers in Brisbane (and indeed all of Australia) will be very accustomed with the music of Sean O'Boyle. His numerous orchestral works are regularly performed in concert halls throughout Australia and the World. When asked for comment about this most recent appointment, Orchestra Brisbane's Artistic Director (John Foster) said: "...This is fantastic news for Orchestra Brisbane. Having someone like Sean join us, with all his experience, diverse skillset, and talent will be a huge boost to the orchestra going forward. We are all very excited to welcome him!"

When we asked about this latest accolade in an already highlight filled career, Sean O'Boyle added; "...I am genuinely looking forward to working with Orchestra Brisbane and its Chief Conductor, John Foster. Their passion for musical excellence and commitment to engaging audiences make this an exciting collaboration. I'm delighted to share new music with such outstanding musicians and to contribute to the orchestra's inspiring artistic journey.

Although still in his forties, and with a career in music spanning 5 continents, over 4 decades and more than 30 years as an Orchestral Musician, International Soloist, Conductor, and Composer, Orchestra Brisbane is proud to welcome John Foster as their inaugural Musical Director and Chief Conductor. Originally from the Far North Queensland town of Atherton and later growing up in Brisbane, John said “…This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for the musicians and people of Brisbane to have another full size professional orchestra. I’m deeply honoured to be working with such a wonderfully dedicated and talented roster of musicians.”
