Iboza (Tetradenia riparia) is known in Zulu as "the fragrant one." At the end of winter, before its leaves appear, it blooms in a cloud of tiny lilac-white flowers, as if a soft violet haze is suspended above the ground. In traditional African culture it has been used for centuries as a healing plant, its complex scent of ginger, nutmeg, and mint believed to clear not only the body but the surrounding space, dissolving mental fog and bringing clarity before important decisions.

Iboza is one of the plants at the heart of Oxana Arefin's Botanical Meditation, on view now at Creative Room Art Space in West End.

The exhibition is open Wednesday to Saturday. Or join Oxana in person on Saturday 6 June for a guided experience, where each visitor receives a written meditation and moves through the exhibition to find the painting connected to it. A quiet, personal encounter that often feels less accidental than it first appears.

Free entry. Saturday 6 June, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
15 Dornoch Terrace, West End. Open until 10 June.

Textile Art Exhibition: Beautiful and Sensual works by local, interstate and international artists.

Between the Threads brings together eight artists whose practices find common ground in fibre, fabric, and material process, while remaining strikingly distinct in vision, method, and cultural origin. Spanning Australia and overseas, the exhibition celebrates textile as one of today's most dynamic artistic languages, where weaving, stitching, soft sculpture, and experimental materials become powerful tools for storytelling, identity, memory, and transformation.

The doors of Garden of Eve are open.

Last night we welcomed the first guests into a world of 24 extraordinary jewellery pieces by Evgeniya Lisichkina of Jane Ju. The collection is organised around three worlds: Heaven, Earth, and the World of Humans. Each piece tells a fragment of a larger story, one of womanhood, beauty, and the natural forces that shape us.

Baroque pearls shaped like angels' wings. Clusters of amethysts blooming into hydrangeas. Black diamonds set into Akoya pearls. Delicate silver leaves embracing freeform gemstones. These are not simply objects to wear. They are an invitation to feel, to remember, and perhaps to find what was lost.

All 24 pieces are on view and available for purchase at Creative Room Art Space today and tomorrow, until Sunday 31 May at 5:00 pm. This is your only chance to see the collection in person in Brisbane.

And today there is one more reason to visit. At 12:00 pm, Evgeniya joins us for Worn and Wild, a free talk on jewellery, fashion, and sustainability. A candid conversation about the fashion industry, jewellery trends, and sustainability from someone who knows it inside out, from the pages of Glamour and Marie Claire to the set of The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.

Come today. See these masterpieces in person.
15 Dornoch Terrace, West End, Brisbane. Free entry.
