🚜 Farm safety doesn’t stop when National Farm Safety Week ends.

Earlier this year, Avocados Australia industry partner WFI Insurance supported National Farm Safety Week and the release of Farmsafe Australia’s 2026 Safer Farms Report, which brings together the latest national injury and fatality data, emerging risks, practical resources and stories from farmers leading positive change across Australian agriculture.

The message behind this year’s campaign - “Set the standard – show ’em how it’s done” - is one worth carrying with us throughout the year: the everyday behaviours we demonstrate on farm can influence the people working and learning alongside us.

🎧 In a special episode of WFI’s Good People to Know podcast, WFI Executive General Manager Damien Gallagher speaks with Farmsafe Australia Ambassador Katie Saul about building a stronger safety culture on Australian farms.

Katie shares practical insights into how everyday conversations, good habits and leading by example can help reduce risks for farmers, workers and families. Our final Australian Fruits Recipe Competition heated up in Thailand this week 🔥🥑🍇

Up-and-coming Thai chefs from Dusit Thani College went head-to-head, crafting creative Southeast Asian dishes centred on Australian avocados, table grapes and summerfruit.

An MOU was signed at the event by Dr Atthawet (Pound) P. Dusit Thani College, Brad Rodgers WA grower and Director Avocados Australia, and witnessed by His Excellency Pablo Kang, Australian Ambassador to Thailand.

“This partnership is about building long-term relationships and creating stronger foundations for Australian avocados in the Thai market,” – Brad Rodgers.

Finalists' recipes were shortlisted and judged by acclaimed Chef Audra Morrice, and Ambassador Kang awarded the winners.

Congratulations to the winners, who were scored on balance, technique, originality and how well they used the featured Australian fruits:

1st place: Apichaya Pubyom
2nd place: Nattawat Theeraloetphanit
3rd place: Chereen Sukphat

Along with recent cook-offs in Malaysia and Singapore, the competitions are part of our broader Australian Fruits Program – aimed to bolster ingredient knowledge, culinary education and shape future ingredient choices on local menus.

We look forward to celebrating with the winners at our November culinary event and recipe book launch.
