National Reconciliation Week 2026 begins today.

This year’s theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation requires all Australians to take part through listening, learning, respect and meaningful action.

Across health and community services, culturally safe and person-centered care plays an important role in strengthening trust, relationships and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

We acknowledge the leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, and the important role reconciliation plays in creating healthier futures across Australia.

The 2026 campaign artwork by Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey represents people from all walks of life being “All In” for reconciliation.

If you're at the Practice Owners Conference this Sunday (24 May) join us as we present: From Insight to Impact: Leveraging Data for Quality Improvement in General Practice, 11.20am - 12.05pm Room C3.3.

Our expert presenters will be discussing how displays a powerful role in helping practices better understand patient needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen the delivery of safe, quality care. In this session, we’ll explore practical ways general practices can use data to support meaningful quality improvement, including:

➡️Emerging themes within the RACGP Standards 6th edition
➡️Using patient experience and other key data sources
➡️Applying data in everyday general practice, and
➡️Demonstrating data-informed improvement in action.

As expectations continue to evolve, practices are increasingly being asked to show how data, patient insight and quality improvement come together to drive meaningful outcomes. If you can be sure to join us on Sunday to discover more. 😊

At AGPAL, your practice is supported by experienced AGPAL Surveyors who understand the realities of general practice and take a practical, independent approach to accreditation.

You’ll also have access to personalised support from our dedicated Client Liaison Team, along with practical tools and resources to guide you throughout the accreditation journey.

A huge congratulations to Camp Hill Medical Centre on achieving their 10th round of AGPAL accreditation👏

Reaching this milestone reflects a long-standing commitment to providing safe, high-quality care and continuing to strengthen the practice for patients, staff and the wider community.

Accreditation is powered by people, and this achievement highlights the teamwork, professionalism and everyday efforts of the entire practice team.

We’d also like to acknowledge AGPAL Surveyors Dr Samantha McLean and Penny George for supporting the practice throughout their recent on-site accreditation assessment. Submitting your self-assessment is a big step forward in your accreditation journey.

It brings together the work your team has done to review systems, processes and day-to-day practice operations, while helping prepare for your on-site accreditation assessment with confidence.

Through AGPAL’s secure online platform, your practice can submit self-assessment information and supporting evidence demonstrating alignment with the RACGP Standards.

Step 3️⃣ helps your practice:

✅ Confirm readiness for assessment
✅ Bring your team’s work together in one place
✅ Prepare for your on-site accreditation assessment
✅ Move from internal review to independent assessment

Accreditation is about showing how your practice supports safe, quality care for patients every day while strengthening the systems that support your team.

Once your self-assessment is submitted, the focus shifts to helping your team feel informed, prepared and supported for the next stage of the process.

A great service experience often starts with a warm welcome 😊

Receptionists are the first voice on the phone and the first face people see when they walk through the door. Their calm support, empathy and organisation help patients, clients and consumers feel welcomed and cared for from the very beginning.

Behind the scenes, reception teams also help keep services running smoothly every day, supporting communication, coordination and accreditation activities across organisations.

Today, we’re recognising and thanking our incredible reception team across the AGPAL Group, along with receptionists working throughout our client organisations nationwide. Your professionalism, care and support make a genuine difference every day 👏

Want to better understand how your practice is tracking against the RACGP Standards❓

Step 2️⃣ of the AGPAL accreditation process is where preparation starts turning into action.

Using AGPAL’s secure online platform, your team can review your systems, processes and everyday ways of working through a structured self-assessment aligned to the RACGP Standards.

This step helps your practice:
➡️ Review how your systems support everyday care
➡️ Identify strengths and improvement opportunities
➡️ Share responsibilities across your team
➡️ Track progress in one central place

Self-assessment also helps build stronger visibility across your practice and supports a team-based approach to continuous quality improvement.

As your on-site assessment approaches, your team will have a clearer understanding of your systems, evidence and priorities, helping the process feel more manageable and organised.
