From Cairns to Sydney, the people of Lau gathered as one in celebration, united by the profound honour of welcoming our Turaga na Tui Nayau, Tui Lau, na Sau ni vanua vakaturaga ko Lau, our Paramount Chief. This was a rare and treasured occasion for the sons and daughters of Lau living in Australia to pay tribute, offer our deepest gratitude, and reaffirm our unwavering respect and loyalty to the head of our Vanua.

Although many miles separate us from the shores of Lau, our hearts remain firmly anchored in our Vanua, our customs, and our chiefly heritage. Your presence among us has strengthened our bonds of veiwekani, renewed our sense of belonging, and reminded us that wherever we may live, we remain proud children of Lau.
