General information

QFF collectively represents primary producers in Queensland intensive agriculture sectors: sugarcane, cotton, horticulture, dairy, nursery, chicken meat, flowers, eggs, and pork. We also represent local irrigator groups. These industries produce more than half of the total value of primary production for Queensland. According to Queensland’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the state’s agricultural industries are typically valued at about $14 billion (including first round processing). Queensland agriculture, fisheries and forestry is responsible for the employment of about 84,900 people, or about four per cent of the population. Despite the numerous challenges facing the sector, Queensland agriculture has a bright and positive future and will continue to perform as an important pillar of the State economy. Representing such an important and diverse sector of the economy, QFF is a vital voice for rural industry.
