Queensland Migrant WorkWise We're a free program empowering migrant workers to take action against exploitation by helping them understand their workplace rights and visa protections.

Delivered by the Queensland Council of Unions, funded by the Department of Home Affairs. Queensland Migrant WorkWise (QMWW) is a free education and information program supporting migrant workers across Queensland. We help temporary visa holders understand their workplace rights and new visa protections so they can take action against exploitation and feel confident at work. Delivered by the Queens

If you’re living and working in Australia on a temporary visa, taking part in the Census is an important way to help make migrant communities visible.

The Census helps build a clearer picture of the people who live and work in Australia including where we come from, the languages we speak, and the communities we’re part of.

When migrant workers are counted, governments and community organisations have better information to plan services and support that reflect the needs of our diverse communities.

Union delegates play an important role in supporting members in the workplace. Why is it important for them to know the types of issues that temporary visa holder might face?

The team at Queensland Migrant WorkWise have been attending union conferences and delegate training over the last few months to talk to delegates about our program.
