We are a community-run, non-for-profit kindergarten offering an approved kindergarten program by qualified early childhood teachers specifically designed for pre-prep children. th The Gowrie (QLD) Inc as our Central Governing Body. We have 2 classrooms, with each room hosting 2 groups of 22 children per week and an enrollment capacity of 88 children per year. We have long-established relationships with all local schools and are able to prepare our children for an easy transition into the formal school environment. What a community-run kindergarten means. Our kindergarten is run for the community by the community. Each year an Executive Committee is elected from volunteer parents and this group becomes the management committee for the year. All executive decisions, fundraising, property maintenance and grant applications are done by this committee. Our kindergarten has always had enthusiastic committees and their efforts over the years have resulted in the high quality facilities and equipment that you see within the centre and grounds. We are a non-profit organisation which all money raised through fees, grants and fundraising is put back into the centre for the benefit of the children. All parents are welcome to be involved as much as they are able within the life of the centre. Whatever time you are able to spend is great but it is not mandatory. How we are funded. The government funds a portion of the cost for each eligible child* in our centre. The remainder of the costs are paid in fees of approx. $33.50 per day, plus a $50 resource levy per term**. Additional funds are raised by the committee through fundraising and grants for the benefit of the centre.

* An eligible child must turn 4 years old whilst in the Kindy program and attend for 15 hours per week.

Our program. We run a 5 day per fortnight program which means children attend 2 set days per week (either Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday) and every alternate Wednesday. Our focus is on delivering a refined curriculum in line with the new Early Childhood Learning Framework as set out by the Government's Office for Early Childhood Education and Care. We support this curriculum because we believe it is a well balanced approach to early learning. Learn more about our curriculum. We also offer a before and after kindy program. 'Kindy Club' operates Monday to Friday from 7.15am to 8.45pm and 2.45pm to 5.30pm. For more information on our Kindy Club please click here. Our facilities. We invite you to see for yourself by dropping in. We are extremely proud of our centre and our facilities. The centre has probably the most picturesque location of any you will see, set in parkland surrounded by trees. We are well equipped, well maintained and we have a generous amount of parking.
