What a morning! ��

After overnight showers, the sun came up on a fresh, slightly damp course — but apart from a few puddles, it was an absolute cracker for a run! 🏃‍♀️💦🏃‍♂️

The forecast is looking nice and clear for tomorrow’s parkrun ⛅️. However this afternoon’s showers may have left their mark at Minnippi’s notoriously damp zones - like the starting area, the triangle near the bridge, and bottom corner of the lake. 💧☔️

So be prepared. Maybe leave the new Asics Superblasts in the cupboard tomorrow, and lace up your old favourites instead. 👟👟

👋 Hey parkies - a friendly reminder:

We've had a few finish tokens go missing over the past few weeks. The tokens get reused every week, so when they go AWOL it causes a few headaches for our amazing volunteer token sorters. So please return them.

We totally get it - it's easy to get caught up chatting with your parkrun friends when you finish a run and you forget you're still holding it. We won't judge you. If you happen find one in your pocket, your car... or your laundry basket at home later, no worries, just bring it along next time and hand it to one of the volunteers.

Thanks for helping keep our parkrun running smoothly 💜👟

A huge shoutout to the outstanding individuals who answered our calls and put their hands up to volunteer this week at Minnippi parkrun. We are truly grateful and happy to report we now have a full complement of volunteers. Thank you. 🩷

Volunteering at parkrun is a wonderful, and rewarding, way of immersing yourself in your parkrun community. It's fun, it's easy... and your running cohort really appreciates it.

Parkrun simply couldn't go ahead without volunteers. In fact, a number of local events around the state have had to cancel recently due to lack of support. We're lucky we haven't had that problem to date at Minnippi (touch wood).

That said, we're always on the lookout for more volunteers for upcoming events. New faces are always welcome. And if every parkrunner put their hand up to help just 2 or 3 times a year our weekly puzzle of filling volunteer roles would always be done!
