A few more photos from late night’s Candlelight Vigil.
Special thanks to Linda and FNA members who worked hard to set up the whole event!!
It’s hard to overestimate how much goes into getting permissions, liaising with Stephen Mam, lining up music and speakers, advertising (with Philippe’s help), organising what needs to be on site. Kerrie also did an amazing job with so much else, including transporting the sound system, banners, sand and sand trays, candles, etc. Well done FNA team! When things go smoothly, you know the organisation has been thorough!

So sad! Crisafulli promised NO NEW STADIUMS!
Not only did he lie.
Not only is he putting Brisbane ratepayers into billions of new debt.
Not only is he destroying the ‘lungs of the city! Already Brisbane has less green space than ANY OTHER AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL City
He is also destroying early Qld history, and
He is destroying sacred spaces and indigenous history … yarning circles, fresh water springs (the last remaining in this part of Qld), ancient burial places, and people’s camping places for thousands of years.
Other venues were put to the Olympic Games in our proposal when we bid for the Games. Those places were considered to be totally adequate.
This is a land grab for developers.
It’s shonky, unnecessary, and once gone, it’s gone forever!
Where is the outrage???
