Congratulations to Courtney Richardson (pictured), who has been awarded QEII Hospital's quarterly Partnering with Consumers Award for her work on the What Matters Most? project.
The project is a simple idea with a big impact, encouraging clinicians to ask patients one powerful question: what matters most to you?
Courtney one of QII's amazing registered nurses has helped drive that conversation across her ward, building on a bedside boards initiative she was already running, and the results speak for themselves.
"It's helping centre patients in their own care, encouraging them to think about their health and wellbeing and focus on getting better," Courtney explained to Metro South Health.
"It's a great conversation starter for most patients, and when patients are unable to respond, family members can also be involved, which is brilliant."
Courtney is an example of the calibre of staff working across QEII Jubilee Hospital every day, staff who go well beyond the clinical task in front of them to genuinely listen to the people in their care. It's that kind of passion that quietly changes what a hospital stay feels like for patients and their loved ones.
Well done, Courtney, and thank you for the difference you're making every day in your role.
