Unfortunately the upcoming Chilly Sing and Winter School have been cancelled.

Dear all

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you to let you know that have had to make the decision to cancel the Winter School and Beat of the Bush events.

Given the rising alarm around COVID-19 infections in Sydney, the continuing spread of the virus and the very strong advice from Qld Health, the most responsible action at this point is to cancel our events. We are so disheartened to have to make this decision, but the health and well-being of all involved is our priority.

However, we do believe that we are able to safely continue with plans for the concert (Singing and Stringing) in the Stanthorpe Art Gallery this coming Tuesday evening, June 29, from 6:30 - 7:30. Given the cancellation of our event, this will be a particularly significant concert and if you are able to attend, you would be most welcome. There are very limited numbers however and all bookings are made through the Gallery.

As per advice in the brochure, in the event that the Winter School be cancelled because of COVID-19, all participants will receive a 100% refund. There is nothing for you to do at this point as we will action refunds over the coming week. This may take several days but be assured that you will be refunded the full amount.

The cancellation of our event will have a significant impact upon many in the local area and several key supporters will be negatively affected by this decision. If you are able to support local businesses in any way, whether in the short or long term, it would be most appreciated.

While we are disappointed to make this decision, we are equally determined to continue to work towards future events. Our commitment to bringing the Arts to our regional areas remains undeterred. The virus presents us with particular challenges and many feel that life is much diminished as a result. However, throughout history and in all places, people have faced difficult times and events. Like those people before us, we will continue to respond reasonably and intelligently to problems, find creative and rewarding solutions and work together for a better world for all. Your support in such endeavours is deeply appreciated.

With all best wishes

James and the Winter School Team

A message from the committee:

Dear all,

We hope you are well and staying in good health. The QKC committee have just had their first online Zoom meeting to discuss the year, plan for the upcoming AGM and pull some ideas together for the future. We will be sending you an email shortly to invite you to the online AGM (with mystery guest artist and QKC-themed trivia) with all the information you need, so please keep an eye out for this.

In the mean time, we wanted to check in with you and see how you are going? Are you and your family well? Have you had any interesting musical experiences lately? Is there any exciting news you want to share with the choir? Please let us know how you are faring during these very interesting times.

We have so missed singing with you and seeing everyone regularly at rehearsals! We hope you can join us online at the AGM so that we can share a drink and a song!
