What happens when mothers have a space to understand themselves, their experiences and the profound transition into motherhood?

Here’s what some of the people who’ve joined our Matrescence Uncovered program have to say.

Their words, shared with permission, remind us why creating space for mothers to feel supported, informed and connected matters so much.

Matrescence Uncovered is a FREE 4 week program we run both in-person in South Brisbane and online for anyone in Queensland. It is a space for mothers and gender diverse parents of any age or any stage to slow down and make sense of being a mother.

Our next Brisbane based sessions are Mondays at 12:30 from the 12th of October.

Our next online sessions are Mondays at 12:30 from the 9th of November.

For more information or to register email [email protected].

It's the Final day of Women’s Health Week for 2026

Connection matters. Feeling supported, included and part of a community can make a real difference to our health and wellbeing.

Sometimes connection is as simple as a cuppa, a check-in or making space for someone to feel welcome.

How do you stay connected to your community?

Day 4 of Women’s Health Week 2026, and today we're focusing on your mental wellbeing.

Mental wellbeing is about more than managing stress. It’s also about connection, purpose, self-awareness and doing things that help us feel like ourselves.

We asked some of the WHEQ team what they do to look after their mental health and wellbeing.

So, how do you look after yours? Let us know in the comments.

After yesterday's post about staying active, we're continuing with something else that has an impact on almost every part of our health: sleep.

Good sleep supports our mental and physical health, from mood and stress to hormones, appetite, blood sugar and the way our bodies recover.

But good sleep isn’t always as simple as going to bed earlier.

Swipe through for a closer look at why sleep matters, how much sleep we need at different stages, and a few simple habits that can help support better quality sleep.

This Women’s Health Week, we’ll be sharing practical information to help you better understand and support your health, one topic at a time.

Yesterday a few members of our team went along to see Strong Is The New Pretty play which is debuting here in Brisbane as part of Brisbane Festival.

With an all female cast, the production, written by Suzie Miller offers a fictionalized, fast-paced retelling of the gruelling and sexist hurdles women faced while building AFLW competition from the ground up. It really taps into the concepts embedded in our new initiative The Way We Move, and the passing of the baton onto the next generation to keep the momentum in women’s sport building.
