We stand in solidarity with the family and community of Alice Springs to commemorate and show our support for Kumanjayi Little Baby.

At 6pm tonight on the 7th of May nationwide we ask that you leave a light on to remember Kumanjayi Little Baby. 💕🎀💞

Strong Women Talking were honoured to have just come back from Mparntwe country spending time, and holding space with our sisters, aunties and families of Tangentyere Women’s Family Safety Group and Galiwin’ku Women’s Space Aboriginal Corporation. During this time we were able to pay respect and lay flowers in mourning and solidarity with the community.

We would also like to invite everyone to join us for the next 24 hours in wearing pink in honour of Kumanjayi Little Baby. 💗💓🌸💕

We will be praying for the family and community during this time of sorry business. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🩷🩷

This month we’ve been blessed enough to take some of our clients to the Restore Program by Broken to Brilliant.

This program is a trauma informed equine therapy initiative for survivors of DFV and the women have been absolutely loving it!

May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.

DFV isn’t just physical, it can be emotional, financial, psychological, and controlling behaviours that take away someone’s safety and freedom.

Strong women don’t just survive, they speak, they support, and they stand together.

This month is about awareness, accountability, and action.

We all have a role to play in ending the cycle so let us stand united and in solidarity with one another ✊🏽

In a historic first, the Federal Government has launched “Our Ways Strong Together”, a dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National Peak Body for Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Created in collaboration with the Coalition of Peaks, Our Ways Strong Together gathers a range Aboriginal community-controlled organisations across all states and territories, including specialist family, domestic and sexual violence services, legal and health services and peak bodies.

This marks a pivotal milestone because it brings national coordination and First Nations leadership to responses addressing family, domestic and sexual violence. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services and peak bodies have been leading this work for generations without national, integrated sector body to represent them. Finally, we unite our voices at a national level.

Our Ways Strong Together hopes to progress National Close the Gap targets and put community-controlled leadership in the drivers seat when it comes to responses to violence.

Some of our IWD 2026 Highlights 💜

We were honoured to be invited to attend the IUIH Nalingu Elders International Women’s day Lunch 💜

Aunty Debbie West was guest speaker at Gatton Women’s Prison IWD Lunch. 💜

Tass attended the Red Rose Foundation Australia IWD breakfast ❤️

Our deadly Tiddas enjoyed a morning tea at the Healing Journey 💜

Spent the morning with Aunty Sandra Creamer and other deadly women at Australian Women's Health Alliance in partnership with Parallax Legal, also King & Wood Mallesons IWD Morning Tea💜

It’s been a wonderful week of coming together, celebrating the achievements and strength, leadership, and resilience that our women bring to our communities. Also hearing and speaking the hard truths that our women and children are still facing systems that continually harm and oppress us.
