Connect. Listen. Collaborate. 🇹🇱

One week in Timor-Leste, reconnecting with friends and partners at Instituto Universitário Naroman Esperansa-IUNE in Gleno and continuing to build relationships that support locally led community development.

During the week, we:

🤝 Connected with local communities, educators, students and volunteers to better understand their needs, ideas and aspirations.

🩺 Delivered free First Aid & CPR Awareness Training to 42 Timorese university students - many of whom are preparing to become educators and community leaders. Thank you to our friends Royal Life Saving - NSW ACT Tasmania for the certificates!

🏐 Delivered 110kg of sporting equipment to Gleno to support the development of the area’s first community sport and health project, which is planned to commence in January.

🌱 Met with local project volunteers, who will form an important part of the team responsible for the ongoing development and sustainability of the project.

🌊 Travelled to Atauro Island, where we sat down and began planning something ambitious - a world-first swim around approximately half of Atauro Island.

For us, community development isn’t about arriving with all the answers.

It’s about connecting with people, listening to what communities want, and collaborating to create something that can continue long after we’re gone.

A huge thank you to everyone in Gleno and Atauro for welcoming us, shared ideas and continue to work alongside us.

The best projects are built with communities, in communities, for communities.

Thank you AWX!

You don't usually catch the AWX crew in black tie. We're better known for hi vis and a 5am start than canapés and welcome bubbles. But we made an exception for the Yellow Dove Australia Annual Gala here in Brisbane.

We've backed Yellow Dove for a few years now. They're a registered charity doing the hard work of helping people in underserved areas get a footing, across health, education, sustainability and community, both here and overseas. The gala was a chance to stop and take stock of what that adds up to. A lot of lives, quietly changed for the better.

We stick with our people and our charities for the long haul - same as our clients and crews. Yellow Dove’s been part of that for a while now, and we’ll keep showing up. Shirt ironed and all.

This End of Financial Year, help us create safer communities in Timor-Leste.

Every donation made to Yellow Dove Australia directly supports our community-led Drowning Prevention and Education Projects, providing vital water safety education, first responder training, swimming and survival skills, and educational opportunities for coastal communities.

In 2026 alone, our team worked alongside local leaders to educate over 900 community members on Atauro Island, Timor-Leste, creating sustainable pathways for local employment, leadership, and community safety.

Your support helps us continue this life-saving work and expand our reach into more remote communities across Timor-Leste.
