Starting to flower right now is a favourite of any cottage garden : Orlaya grandiflora: commonly called White Lace Flower. A hardy annual that is native to Europe it has delicate fern-like foliage and flattish pure white flowers that are brilliant as a cut bloom. Reaching a size of 70cm x 70cm it puts on a dazzling display from early spring through summer. Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position and be rewarded for months year after year: it self seeds freely. A drought hardly low maintenance plant ideal for any cottage garden or border.

Three days of Spring fun!

A visit to the local garden centre will give you proof of just how close we are to Spring. Do you remember the song ‘ Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do’? There are just so many to choose from at the moment that deciding on just one is a tad difficult.
