Feature plant: Popping up in many of our gardens at the moment are these dainty little beauties. Calceolaria mexicana commonly called Ladies Purse or Slipper Flower they are a cool season annual native to central and southern America. They grow to around 30-40 cm high and wide and prefer a morning sun to dappled light position with moist soil. Soft velvet-like foliage is lime green which highlights the delightful sunny yellow flowers that continue for months. Thanks to Poppy Barb for encouraging us to go out and check for those babies right now.

Browse 50 stalls from local creatives with a great selection of plants, pots, ceramics, art, fashion, jewellery, coffee, food, live music and more.

Winter flowering salvias are at their prime just now. Some of them are quite large growing but if you have the space they are definitely worth including in your garden. Not only are they absolutely beautiful but they attract many beneficial insects and nectar feeding birds. Tough plants that require little mire than a hard cut back each year.

Ipswich Plant and Lifestyle Fair is done and dusted for the winter date. Great event, variety of stallholders was amazing and well supported by the community too. We loved being part of it. Thanks.
