NAIDOC Week 2026 is almost here!
This year we celebrate 50 Years Deadly — marking 50 years of NAIDOC Week.
At DCC Industry Group, we're excited to celebrate, connect, learn, and honour the rich cultures, histories, achievements and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year's theme and artwork recognise the generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have shaped, strengthened, and carried culture forward, while celebrating the connections that continue to bring communities together.
We can't wait to celebrate with our communities throughout NAIDOC Week.

Today we honour Mabo Day. A day that recognises the legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo and the landmark decision that changed this country forever by overturning terra nullius and recognising Native Title in Australian law.
It’s a time to reflect on truth, on justice, and on the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
A reminder of the deep connection to land, culture, and community that has always been here.
Today is about respect, recognition, and continuing to walk forward together.

National Reconciliation Week is a time to pause, listen and learn.
It’s about recognising our shared history and walking forward together, connecting past, present and future, and acknowledging that each step shapes what comes next.

This year’s theme, “All In,” reminds us that reconciliation isn’t something to stand back from; it’s a call for all of us to be involved, to listen, learn and take action together.

At DCC Industry Group, our team is committed to learning alongside the communities we support. Guided by Dignity, Culture and Connection, we create spaces where people feel respected and heard.

This week is a chance for all of us to lean in, learn more, and be part of the journey.

Today we acknowledge National Sorry Day.
A day to remember and honour the Stolen Generations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children taken from their families, culture, and Country.
We acknowledge the pain still carried today, while honouring the strength, resilience, and survival of our people and communities.
At DCC Industry Group, we continue to listen, learn, and walk alongside the community with respect.

Great to see Deejay representing on the panel at the 2026 Employment and Training Forum, sharing insights around workforce challenges, training approaches, workplace diversity, and culturally informed practices within the workforce.

A big thank you to the DTET Metropolitan Team for organising such a valuable forum and creating space for important conversations across the sector. Also deadly hearing the insights shared by Cara Whitfield, David Mehemel, Angela Roberts and Karlene Feldbauer within their respective field and the wonderful work they're doing in the space.

This ANZAC Day, we pause to say thank you to the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who courageously put their lives on the line so we could have the life and future we do today. Their sacrifice, courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As each year passes and fewer ANZACs remain with us, our gratitude and respect only grow stronger. We honour not only their service, but the lives they have lived, the families who stood beside them, and the legacy they leave behind.

From all of us at DCC Industry Group, we remember.

Lest we forget.

This Queensland Youth Week, it’s time to recognise the strength of young people’s voices across our state. This year’s theme highlights the importance of connection and inclusion – while supporting young people to shape their own futures.

At DCC Industry Group, our residential youth workers are creating space for young people to be heard and valued. Every day brings a clear reminder that understanding young people means more than knowing how they communicate; it means understanding how they want to be heard.

This is especially true for our vulnerable community members, and young people from trauma-informed backgrounds. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, listening goes beyond conversation; it requires cultural understanding, respect and genuine commitment to walking alongside them.

We know that when young people feel heard, they feel safe. And when they feel safe, they can begin to build trust, connection and a sense of belonging. During Queensland Youth Week, we must stay reminded to walk alongside young people and bring them to the forefront of our conversations.
