Happy International Youth Day!

Today we celebrate young people, their ideas, their voices and the difference they make in their communities every day.

This year’s theme, Different Contexts, Common Aspirations, reminds us that while every young person’s journey is different, many share the same hopes for opportunity, belonging and a brighter future.

Here’s to creating spaces where young people feel heard, supported and empowered to shape what comes next. 🌏✨

What a night! ✨

Our team had the privilege of attending the Kambu Health Annual Gala Ball, joining the community to celebrate an incredible milestone and the lasting impact Kambu has had over the past 50 years.

One of the highlights of the evening was hearing the stories behind Kambu's journey. Listening to the memories shared by the families of the founding members was a beautiful reminder of the vision, determination and community spirit that continues to shape Kambu today.

Another unforgettable moment was hearing Olivia Coe-Fox perform We Are Australian in language. It was a powerful performance that reflected the pride, culture and connection celebrated throughout the night.

Congratulations to everyone at Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health on this remarkable milestone. Thank you for welcoming us to celebrate alongside your community. Here's to the next 50 years of community, culture and care. 🖤💛❤️💙💚

Last week, our Foster & Kinship Care team had the privilege of attending the National Foster & Kinship Care Conference on the Sunshine Coast, joining hundreds of carers, practitioners, community organisations and sector leaders from across Australia.

A huge thank you to Queensland Foster and Kinship Care for hosting such a meaningful event. Bringing so many passionate people together created an incredible opportunity to connect, learn, share ideas and celebrate the people working every day to support children, young people and families.

Throughout the conference, our team connected with organisations from across the country, gained valuable insights from inspiring speakers and shared conversations with others who bring heart, purpose and compassion to the work they do.

Most importantly, we'd like to recognise the incredible foster and kinship carers who open their hearts and homes every day. Thank you for the love, care and stability you provide, and for the life-changing difference you make in the lives of children and young people when they need it most.

Together, we're building stronger communities through connection, collaboration and a shared commitment to creating brighter futures.

This year's theme, Living Our Truth, celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, their stories, their culture, and the strong connections they have to family, community and Country.

Held each year on 4 August, the date also carries deep significance. It recognises the birthday that was often assigned to many members of the Stolen Generations who were separated from their families and lost knowledge of their true birth dates.

Today is a chance to celebrate the strength, resilience and voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, while honouring the stories that continue to shape our shared future.

From all of us at DCC Industry Group, we're proud to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children today and every day. Happy Children's Day! ❤️💛🖤 💚💙
