A message from the skipper 🏏

We're stoked to share that we've landed Campaign of the Year at the sport_positive_ awards for Sport Forever! 🏆

What started as a player-led campaign is now helping up to 500 Aussie sporting clubs become more climate resilient and energy efficient through the Aus Government's Game On grant program.

The weather might be getting harder to predict, but that doesn’t mean the cricket has to stop 🏏

We loved getting down to HiTZ Cricket to see how Cricket Victoria is embracing new technology and new ways to keep people playing the game we love – whatever the weather throws at us.

Runs on the board = roots in the ground 🌱🏏

That was the promise behind the Green Game between Prospect District Cricket Club and Glenelg District Cricket Club: for every run scored, Landcare Australia would donate a native plant.

Prospect took the win – so the plants came home with them. And a couple of weeks back, 250 native plants went into the ground across the City of Prospect, creating a lasting local legacy from one day of cricket.

Four years on, the idea is still simple: help community sporting clubs spend less on energy so they can invest more in sport.

Today, that journey continues through Sport Forever – the official support service we're leading to help community sporting clubs across all codes make the most of the Australian Government's Game On program.

Here's to what's next 🤝

What does extreme weather have to do with mental health?

Aussie cricket legend and Cricket for Climate ambassador, Belinda Clark joined experts from Lifeline and NRMA in Sydney a couple of weeks back to help connect the dots.

Extreme weather events are only getting more frequent, and more intense. And sport is one of the best ways to protect our wellbeing.

That's why future-proofing cricket clubs around Australia is so important – protect the game, protect our communities.

Welcome to a day in the life of the Cricket for Climate team 👋

We don’t get together often (ever) so when we do, we have to make it count. A big day in Brisbane planning out the rest of the year – new partnerships, new programs, more cricket! 🏏💚
