We caught up with Deputy Prime Minister Johnny Koanapo and his wife while they were in Brisbane for the Pacific Infrastructure Conference 🙌🇻🇺

It was a great chance for students to sit down, share some meaningful conversations, and learn from one of our national leaders.

Big thanks to Dr. Tess Newton Cain and her family for kindly opening their home to host this small kakae tugeta. 💛

Olivia Tosul 👏👏🇻🇺

A heartfelt speech by 24-year-old student Olivia Tosul captured the spirit of this year’s Vanuatu Independence Day celebration in Brisbane, where people gathered to mark 45 years since the Pacific nation gained its sovereignty.

Speaking on behalf of the student community, Tosul’s emotional address embodied the 2025 theme, “Vanuatu, Tugeta Yumi Stanap” (Together We Stand), and served as a reminder of the enduring strength and identity of Ni-Vanuatu living abroad.

A first for Vanuatu 🇻🇺 to perform for UQSPIA at the Mana of the Pacific 2025. So blessed and grateful for all these wonderful brothers and sisters who decided to join us. Was a blast and definitely a night to remember!!
