Hey team! Just a reminder, our next working bee has been moved to Saturday, the 27th of June.

It is a lovely time of year out in nature. Make sure you get out into the great outdoors, and we'll see you in a couple of weeks!

Thanks again to those who made it out to this morning's working bee! We had a small but mighty crew who continued to clear weeds around The Gantry Day-use area.

We also freed a few trees from tree guards used during an old reveg project - the trees had grown quite large in them!

Wildflowers in D'Aguilar National Park!

Banksias are flowering at this time of year! Often known for their coastal varieties, there are several subspecies found in different environments, including the montane heathland found within the park!

Both Banksia Spinulosa (subsp. Collina) and Banksia Integrifolia (subsp. Monticola) are flowing profusely at the moment.

Take a drive from The Gantry (Mt Mee) along the Western Escarpment Drive to see the beautiful Scribbly-gum forest and heath understory. There is always something flowering!

Thanks to all who made it out to this month's working bee, we had another great time out in the park!

We continued weeding around The Gantry Day-use area pulling out/poisoning Lantana and Easter Cassia. We had to dodge a few jumping-ant nests, but we made great progress!

We'll be meeting again back in the park next month on the 9th May (location TBC). We hope to see you there!

It's that time again when we get to jump back into the park and care for our local environment!

We'll be meeting back up at The Gantry from 8am this Saturday (11th April) continuing our work around the day-use area pulling out weeds!

We hope to see you there!

Thanks to all who made it out to our working bee on the weekend!

After all the rain, we had to change plans at the last minute, but we still made great progress working around the Archer Campground, pulling out lantana and Brazilian nightshade! With a large group of 18 people, we cleaned up the area significantly, increasing visibility at the entrance to the campground and providing space for natives to sprout up!

Stay tuned for an exciting year ahead in the park!

A favourite, the Christmas Orchid (Calanthe Triplicata) is flowering now in D'Aguilar National Park!

These terrestrial orchids flower from November to January and can be found in the rainforests of D'Aguilar NP. In the northern section you can spot these along the Piccabeen track up at The Gantry, or in the south along the Greenes Falls track at Maiala and along Cedar Creek.

Head out into the park this weekend and check out the amazing plants right on our doorstep! 🌿
