On Monday, World Ocean Day, we celebrated the world’s greatest force. 🌊

As a coastal nation, the ocean is both a blessing and a curse, providing such beauty and biodiversity while at times, creating danger and disaster.

We’re all in it together, and when the ocean gets the better of us, NDRO is here to pick up the pieces. 💙

Last month, the federal budget brought a seismic amount of changes to Australia’s tax system, so you may be wondering - is now the right time to sell?

If you’re an owner-occupier, there’s never been a better time to sell. Demand is high, and the market is hungry.
As for investors, changes to negative gearing won’t affect your current property, but changes in capital gains tax may eat into your profits.

Through The Deductible Alternative (a subsidiary of NDRO), you can sell your home for the best possible price, and if you choose, make a fully tax-deductable donation to the NDRO.

Did you know that last year’s Cyclone Alfred was one of the world’s most costly climate events in 2025?

With economic losses of roughly $1.8 billion, the amount is almost unfathomable.

These statistics aren’t just numbers. They’re real people, with real stories. While climate events have been forgotten in the daily news cycle, these people are still recovering.

Disasters often dominate the news, for days or weeks.

Then the cameras leave. The headlines fade. Attention shifts elsewhere.

But for communities, recovery doesn’t end when the media cycle does.

That’s where we come in - helping rebuild when businesses are getting back on their feet, houses are being swept and communities are coming to terms with their new reality.

Far-North Queensland is nothing if not resilient.

A combination of warmer weather, coastal beauty and wind patterns make it highly susceptible to cyclones. Last month was no exception, with Cyclone Narelle causing a large amount of flooding and destruction.

The media often moves on quickly from the hardship caused by these events. That’s where people come together, to support those doing it tough, and begin the long road to recovery together.

In Australia, fires are an unavoidable part of life, and they aren’t getting better.

Climate change means the fire season is getting longer, and vegetation is drying out more quickly and becoming kindling.

The result? More fires, more often, and more dangerous.

Having an evacuation plan and emergency kit is critical.

Our world is beautiful, and nowhere is that clearer than in our country of Australia (not that we’re biased).

International Mother Earth Day aims to bring attention to the challenges to the wellbeing of the planet. Working in disaster relief, we see these dangers all too often.

It’s our responsibility to work together to do what we can to protect our planet, and each other.

High prices on fuel isn’t just inconvenient.

It’s dangerous.

A lack of fuel in a disaster relief situation can cripple logistics, delay aid delivery and prevent communities from escaping danger.

In these times, it’s important not to hoard fuel. At the same time, being prepared is key.

Check your emergency kit today. Make sure it has all the essentials, including non-perishables, first-aid, flashlights, a radio, and much more.
