NHW is supported by a strong and committed volunteer base, and it's both a philosophy and an approach to working together as a community to assist in trying to reduce crime and enhance the safety of our neighbourhood. NHW started in 1988 and encourages residents to join in a small informal group for the purpose of improving safety for their families and those who visit or conduct business in our n
eighbourhood. NHW also encourages interaction and a shared sense of responsibility between neighbours and our local area in reducing crime and supporting other crime prevention measures. In our area we have also become involved in broader safety issues, house numbering, graffiti removal, assisting the Qld Police Crime Prevention Unit personnel. We also endeavour to share information with and help other NHW groups. Since the inception of our group in 2002, we believe that in our area we have successfully built community cohesion and improving relationships between neighbours which improves the reduction of crime. So if you have any questions about NHW please feel free to contact us. We also hold meetings the first Monday of every second month, in Feb, April, June, August, October and December.
