As Torres Strait, Aboriginal and Pacific young people, our collective fight to protect our cultures, lands, waterways and skies will always be grounded in the wisdom of the past.

This is us dreaming backwards into the future - this is the resistance 🌊

Australian Universities Pacific Association Conference (AUPAC) 2026 🌺 | PCW QLD Workshop

In collaboration with the Pacific Islands Council of QLD and 350 Australia, we were privileged to facilitate a space at this year’s AUPAC Conference where Pasifika students from across Queensland and New South Wales came together to learn, connect, and reflect on our shared responsibility to our fenua.

Our workshop followed the inspiring keynote by Mary Harm from 350 Australia and Pacific Climate Warriors QLD, who highlighted the importance of Artivism - using art, storytelling, and creativity as powerful tools for climate justice. Her message reminded us that our stories, cultures, and lived experiences are all forms of advocacy.

Building on Mary’s keynote, participants created tote bags that reflected their connection to culture, community, and the environments we call home. Every design told a different story, highlighting the many ways our people continue to lead, inspire, and advocate for climate justice.

Samoan Language Week may be over, but we’re not quite finished celebrating 🇼🇸

In collaboration with UQ SPIA, we’re excited to share our Samoan Language Week video.

Luna, a proud daughter of Samoa and dedicated advocate for Pacific communities, joins us from the motherland to share Samoan language connected to climate and environmental conversations. We hope her contribution inspires learning, discussion, and action within our communities.

Vakaraitaka - “to reveal” 🌊🌺

Earlier this month, we hosted a special screening of Vakaraitaka alongside our friends at the Pacific Islands Council of QLD ()🐚

Created by Fijian storyteller and climate advocate, Fenton Lutunatabua (), the cinematic poem sparked meaningful talanoa around climate justice, ancestry, resilience, and community. In our small gathering, we shared stories, reflections, and the different ways the poems resonated with each of us 🌺

We then carried those reflections into a collaging workshop, where attendees created pieces inspired by the poems and messages that spoke to them most.

INVASION DAY 2026 ❤️💛🖤 🤍💙💚

Pacific Climate Warriors QLD stands in solidarity with First Nation Communities across so-called ‘Australia,’ today and always.

Today is a Day of Mourning. It is a day of standing in solidarity, standing together as Indigenous peoples from the Pacific to Australia, standing together in our fight for both Indigenous and Climate Justice.

PCW QLD continues to echo our call that there can be no climate justice without Indigenous justice, and we can start with LAND BACK ✊🏽

🌺 PAWA Up with us to Draw the Line at 1.5 degrees! 🌞

On Sept 20th, join Pacific Climate Warriors QLD for the Global Day of Action to at 1.5 degrees. 🌊

Here in QLD, we’ll be holding a Pawa Up training to equip our youth with the tools to not only draw the line but also carry these conversations into our communities and spaces.

Noa’ia and Happy Rotuman Language Week!

This year, we at Pacific Climate Warriors QLD wanted to highlight the importance of language and its intrinsic connection to our Islands.

By decolonizing climate language, we hope to connect our people to the language that we often use in our movements, in our fight for climate justice.

As the Rotuman proverb states, “Hanua ma ‘on maf ka ma ‘on ‘al,” (The land has eyes and teeth) no one can take our land away, because the spirit of our Temamfua will look after our Hanua, look after us 🤍
