Little Athletics Queensland

Family, fun and fitness for Little Athletes aged 5-17. Little Athletics is the Foundation for all Sports. Without these volunteers a Centre cannot operate.

It offers young people activities and skills that will stand them in good stead for their sporting future. The Little Athletics motto of 'Family, Fun and Fitness' highlights that it is a community activity involving the whole family on a weekly basis. Athletes are encouraged to improve their own performances, sportsmanship and social skills, throughout the season. Family

mes part of the Little Athletics family. Even though the children participate in a range of Track and Field events, grandparents and older siblings are involved in many different ways, such as coach, officials and administrator or committee member. Fun
A range of fun activities, such as play training, participating in weekly Centre competitions and participation in various LAQ carnivals and competitions, occurs at Little Athletics. Many Centres have coaches to help you improve and learn about athletics so you can get the most out of your involvement with Little Athletics. Learning is fun and in no time you will see your personal best (PB’s) performances improve. Fitness
By participating at Little Athletics, children are contributing to their own active and healthy lifestyle. This can be achieved via involvement in:
- outdoor activities
- LAQ competitions and carnivals
- coaching clinics and camps
- training sessions at local Centres
If you are fit it makes you feel good about yourself and you have the energy to do anything!

Australian Best Performances Ratified! 🏆

We are thrilled to celebrate three outstanding Queensland athletes whose incredible performances at the McDonald's State Championships have now been officially ratified as Australian Best Performances!

Congratulations to 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐜𝐊𝐞𝐨𝐰𝐧, who set a new Australian Best Performance in the Under 11 Boys 80m Hurdles with a time of 12.03 seconds.

A huge congratulations also to 𝐑𝐲𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, who delivered not one but two Australian Best Performances this season:
• Under 11 Boys 800m – 2:15.29
• Under 11 Boys 1500m – 4:35.76

Well done to 𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧, who claimed a new Australian Best Performance in the Under 14 Girls 800m with a time of 2:11.43.

What an incredible achievement by all three athletes — congratulations on making history!
