Each year, members of the RQAS branches across Queensland nominate their peers to receive fellowship. Our Fellows are those artists who have reached a high standard of artistic practice, and have contributed to the broader Arts community as well as supporting the aims of the RQAS.

Coming up in July, we recognise our Fellows and their contributions in the 2026 RQAS Fellows exhibition. For this open themed exhibition, we celebrate the current and past Fellows of the Royal Queensland Art Society with an exhibition that showcases their talent and legacy. Let the Arts Flourish!

This exhibition will be on show at Petrie Terrace Gallery from Wednesday, 8th of July to Thursday, 30th of July. Keep an eye on our socials for event details coming soon!

Today is your last chance to see Section 1 (oil and acrylic) as a part of the 136th Members Annual - Painting and Sculpture exhibition, as part 1 of the exhibition closes today (Sunday, 14th of June) at 3:30pm!

We are swapping the exhibitions over and from Wednesday, 17th of June to Sunday, 5th of July, Sections 2 (watercolour), 3 (photography and digital), 5 (drawing), 6 (2D media) and 7 (pastel) will be on show as a part of the 136th Members Annual - A Mix of Media exhibition.

To open part 2 of the Members Annual, we are also hosting the Awards Afternoon on Saturday, 20th of June at 2pm!

Don't miss out on tickets to our ART TALKS event this weekend at Petrie Terrace Gallery! On Sunday, 14th of June from 2pm, Associate Professor Dr Dominique Falla will be discussing the topic, "Global success in the arts isn’t luck: Learning from K-Pop."

She will be specifically examining how global success in the arts is often framed as luck, talent, or viral breakthrough. Drawing on the recent global success of the Korean popular music industry (K-pop) as a case study, this talk challenges that narrative by revealing the systems, structures, and strategies that underpin sustained creative success.
