Hi Everyone.
Well the wait is finally over.
We really appreciate your patience while we sorted the details for Wayne’s final resting place and acknowledge the wait hasn’t been easy.
Wayne’s offical location is:
Albany Creek Memorial Gardens
Wall 17
Section 4
Niche 37

Wayne knew the location and loved the idea that friends, family, community could drop by for a sit down yarn whenever they wanted. As often as they wanted.

There’s a bbq area which he was stoked about and its pet friendly area.

So there you are.

Like the plaque says - much loved - sorely missed.

We will have news about the WWF to share when the dust settles.

Until then, thank you all for your support and patience.

In the early 2000’s Wayne developed a program where young people who were otherwise at risk of falling through the cracks were given autonomy and supported to generate employment and education outcomes for themselves. The program rattled every bar of the sympathetic framework cages of the welfare system and he was attacked by ‘peers’ for daring to give young people choice, agency and experiential rather than spoon-feed learning. The final part of the program was to throw the young people out of perfectly good aeroplanes out at Gatton. The final debrief of the program was up at Dickey Beach. These young ones are still with us as are the results of Wayne’s support. It was Wayne’s wish that some of his ashes were spread at that site and what a beautiful completion for those (formerly) young people to take him on a final adventure. We’re so proud and know Wayne would be too. Well done you fellas! This is true legacy. ✊🏽🖤
