Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C)

Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) Our philosophy is basically to stop despairing about our long suffering environment and get out and do something on the ground to help it recover.

Bulimba Creek Catchment - working for the protection and restoration of Brisbane's second largest catchment through bushcare, education, rehabilitation and speaking out in defense of the natural environment. We believe that the antidote for despair is action! We engage in community education, school projects, bushcare group support and getting the community planting trees, w**ding and working on w

aterways and bushlands. This page is moderated per B4C social media standards. Any posts that are deemed to be defamatory, offensive, inflammatory, abusive, off topic or otherwise inappropriate will be removed.

💪🛶 THE HARDCORE CREW!!! 🛶💪

Thanks to funding from the Queensland Government’s DESI Litter and Marine Debris Clean-Up and Prevention Program, we have been partnering with Ocean Crusaders to remove plastic and other waste pollution from Bulimba Creek.

On Wednesday 17 June, our Hardcore Clean-Up Crew took on one of the toughest sections of the creek and removed an incredible 910kg of rubbish from the waterway! 🤯♻️

This outstanding effort will help protect local wildlife, improve water quality, and prevent litter from reaching Moreton Bay.
A huge thank you to these dedicated volunteers who were willing to get muddy, work hard, and make a real difference for our environment. 🌿👏

Amazing effort, team! 💚🚣‍♀️🌏

Thanks to funding from the Queensland Government’s DESI Litter and Marine Debris Clean-Up and Prevention Program, we have been partnering with Ocean Crusaders to remove plastic and other waste pollution from Bulimba Creek.

On Saturday 13 June, a dedicated team of 22 paddlers collected an impressive 210kg of rubbish from the waterway, including a car bonnet and a small washing machine!

A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves (and paddles) to help keep our waterways healthy and protect Moreton Bay from marine debris. 👏🌿🚣‍♀️

Well done, team! 💚♻️

For 18 years, the Bulimba Creek Environment Fund has helped connect city and country through a unique partnership with Gulf Rivers Landcare in north-west Queensland.

Each year, the Fund supports two young B4C landcarers to travel to Mt Isa, gaining hands-on conservation experience while building skills, confidence and lifelong connections. It’s more than a Landcare project — it’s an adventure that inspires the next generation of environmental stewards.

This is just one of many initiatives supported by the Bulimba Creek Environment Fund, including:
💚Protecting and restoring habitat at Mount Elliot and Mount Barney–Yamahra Creek Nature Refuges
💚Supporting Rural Fire Brigades near our refuges
💚Endangered species surveys and invasive w**d management
💚Youth engagement through Intrepid Landcare
💚Water quality, wildlife and environmental monitoring
💚Bushcare and wildlife corridor projects
💚Revegetation and restoration across the Catchment

This EOFY, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Every dollar helps protect wildlife, restore habitat and inspire future conservation leaders.
