Scrappy rescue beds!

Every Snuggle sack and tunnel in this collection is made from fabric scraps and offcuts that were too small to make a bed on their own. Rather than letting them go to waste, I've stitched them together into completely unique patchwork beds. No two will ever be the same because I'm working with offcuts! 💕

Every purchase helps chip away at the remaining bills from my past rescue work - Your piggy gets a new bed and some forgotten fabric gets a second chance No Scrap Left Behind?! 😄♻️

I still need to insert fleece into most of the beds but wanted to pop them up because I was a little excited to share 😊 i will update the photos once they're complete.

🐹 A little rescue update…I know this page has been veeeery quiet this year, and I am sorry — I’m still here!

For those who have followed me for a long time, you’ll know that I ran my rescue for close to a decade, taking in guinea pigs and other small animals and helping them find safe, loving homes. Over the past few years, my life changed quite a lot, and after a particularly difficult year of loss in 2025, I had to step back from rescue. I’m no longer actively operating rescue in the way I once was, though eventually I would love to pick back up in a smaller role.

One thing that unfortunately didn’t disappear when I stepped back was the debt. There is still almost $10,000 of debt still remaining from veterinary care, food, supplies and other bills incurred during my time actively rescuing animals 😓 This isn’t debt from taking on new rescues — it is the leftover cost of the animals I cared for in the past, and I’m still ever-so-slowly working away at paying it off. But its a huge sum of money hanging over my head, and I am just one person (with a little human of my own to care for) trying to get by in this crazy expensive world.

I’ve gone back and forth about posting about it as I don’t want anyone to feel pressured or like I’m asking for handouts. But I also know that this community has supported me and the animals enormously over the years, so I figured the least I could do was be honest about where things are at.

So… I’m going to have a little go at fundraising again. 🥹

🐹 The guinea pig beds are still here
I’m still making my handmade guinea pig beds (tunnels, sacks and now i do cuddle cups too!), and every sale goes towards chipping away at those old rescue bills. I also still have vet bedding!

🕯️ and there may be a new fundraiser joining them… I’ve recently started making soy candles and melts, because apparently I need another hobby 😂. I’m thinking of adding some guinea-pig-themed candles to the fundraising mix. I’ve even been eying off some super cute guinea pig wax moulds, if there would be any interest in that! 😊

I am also still offering pet sitting in the Mount Cotton/Redland Bay area for all animal types, too 😊

And if you don't need a bed or a candle but would simply like to contribute towards the remaining rescue debt, I can also include a way to do that.

There is absolutely no expectation whatsoever that anyone contributes. ❤️ I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported me and the animals over the years.

Anyway...here’s to slowly, slowly getting that bill down — one fleecy bed or candle at a time 🐹🕯️❤️

I know its been a minute since I poated anything on my page - sorry friends! But this is happening in my area, and it is so devastating to watch unfold. Please if you have a minute could you take a look at what is happening at Ormiston College, and show some support for the wildlife whose homes are being selfishly torn down 😓

This is “Leaf” , the Mummy koala with a baby Joey in her pouch, who is at great risk of losing more of her home in Ormiston College , in the Redlands , Queensland .
She has a satellite tagging system so that she can be tracked and monitored .
Redlands Council have spent $6 million dollars studying many of the koalas 🐨 in the Redlands in recent years , but what is the point of that science based evidence when a private school can ignore it and get its own report contradicting the RCC , and obtain approval from the LNP State Government to destroy so much vital core koala habitat , so fast , for a huge development ?

Btw, the Redlands City Council REJECTED that schools’ development proposal , so the school then bypassed the Redlands Council and managed to get approval from the LNP State Government instead , in case you have just noticed this situation on the news .

Two Redlands LNP MPs ( both State and Federal ) have children that attend that school , plus another attended that school herself . So you would expect that they would know EXACTLY what’s at risk for the koalas and other endangered wildlife that have made their homes within the school grounds or use it when they roam in that area ?

Please email Jarrod Bleijie MP David Crisafulli MP Henry Pike MPAmanda Stoker MP Rebecca Young MP Russell Field MP ( all LNP MPs ) and let them know your concerns about this destructive development at Ormiston College .
