“THEY’RE COMING FOR YOUR FAMILY…”

That’s the fear campaign Queenslanders are being fed.

But who is REALLY causing the fear?

While officials warn that fire ants are “coming for your family” and “coming for your dog”, Queenslanders are watching one of the largest blanket chemical programs in the state’s history unfold across an estimated 1.2 million hectares, with some areas treated up to SIX TIMES.

This reel also features Senator Malcolm Roberts questioning Justine Saunders and Senator Anthony Chisholm during Senate Estimates over the serious concerns Australians are raising about this program.

Most properties inside current treatment zones DON’T EVEN HAVE FIRE ANTS.

Yet the poisons continue to be spread across forests, private properties and entire landscapes.

Meanwhile, fire ants rank only around 1.2 on the Schmidt Pain Index, while Australia’s native bull ants rank around 3.

Deaths from fire ant stings are extraordinarily rare. Statistically, you are more likely to be struck by lightning than die from a fire ant sting.

Globally respected entomologists including Professor Joshua King and Professor Nigel Andrew are now warning that fire ants are no longer realistically eradicable at this scale, and that repeated broad-scale baiting may actually make the problem WORSE.

No country in the world has eradicated fire ants once infestations exceeded around 10,000 hectares.

Queensland is now estimated at around 1.2 MILLION hectares.

After 25 years and more than $1.2 BILLION spent, many Australians are now asking:

Here is Trevor Hold providing a legal update following last week’s evidentiary hearing in Ipswich Magistrates Court.

Trevor is charged under section 790 of the PPRA following a National Fire Ant Eradication Program operation involving 13 biosecurity officers and 5 armed Queensland Police officers entering his organically certified property to conduct chemical treatment.

The defence argues Trevor acted under a lawful “reasonable excuse” and that the legality of the underlying biosecurity operation cannot simply be separated from the obstruction allegations. The defence further argues the program is acting ultra vires and intended to rely upon expert scientific evidence relating to eradication feasibility, toxicology concerns, ecological impacts, alternative treatment methods and alleged harm suffered on the property.

However, the prosecution argued the court is not the place to debate the science or policy success of the program, instead focusing on the broad scope of police obstruction powers under the PPRA.

While the court declined to admit the expert witness evidence at this stage, this fight is far from over.

Earlier this week… more helicopters poisoning Samford Valley 🚁

The constant noise, stress and disruption is becoming unbearable for many residents. People feel like they’re being repeatedly sprayed without consent — despite there being NO fire ants in this area.

Fire ants also do not thrive in heavily shaded forested environments, yet helicopters continue dropping toxic bait over bushland and residential communities.

And all of this is happening while we’re supposedly in the middle of a fuel crisis.

Many Queenslanders are now questioning whether this program is causing more harm than good — environmentally, financially and socially.

There are peer-reviewed scientific studies backing up these concerns, including work by Professor Nigel Andrew, Professor Joshua King, and Dr Connie Turni.

Here’s Trevor speaking at the Springbrook Chamber of Commerce event, where he was invited to showcase his FASO (Fire Ant Soup Operation) machine.

In this video, he explains how this high-pressure, hot water system is being used as a targeted, non-toxic way to treat fire ant nests — as well as its potential to be adapted for other biosecurity challenges like weeds, and even practical applications such as cleaning.

This method is based on the work of Professor Joshua King and has been trialled here in Australia in collaboration with Professor Nigel Andrew.

The results are significant: when applied correctly, nests can be eliminated — with 100% effectiveness after a second treatment.
