Bramble Bay Women’s Shed Inc Bramble Bay Women's Shed BBWS was established for women, to aid with the development of skills, using tools, including power tools, and general DIY knowledge.

We aim to offer a safe space to meet, learn, create, and make. We also offer further opportunities to learn new skills through workshops.

Bramble Bay women's Shed has a stall in the Einbunpin Festival at Sandgate this Sunday 26th July 2026. It's held at the Einbunpin Lagoon Parklands, Brighton Road, Sandgate. This festival has lots of interesting stalls, food trucks, kids activities and the like - it is a great way to spend a Sunday at the lovely historic town of Sandgate.

We have made lots of wooden goodies for our stall, from cutting boards, serving boards, deli trays, resin boards, bowls, even some cute cat book/page holders, wooden spoons and coasters all with animals pyrographed onto them. Our carvers have been busy too, doing small dry vases decorated with native flora and some cute animals.

So come along and support the festival, and drop in to our stall and say hi!

Our bird motel finally back in its garden ready for our lovely feathered friends to visit. Sadly we had to renovate it a bit after some insects also decided it was a great place to visit. This gave us the opportunity to refurbish it and brighten it up a bit too! So goes to show that if you look for the silver lining you are sure to find it.

The ladies enjoyed the scroll saw competency making stars and trying out different machines with different blades and different thicknesses of timber. Later making these cute cat page marks, and finishing off some bowl projects. Einbunpin is on later this month at Sandgate and we busy are preparing items for our stall. Lots to do!

Sunday's workshop was making a base frame for the hand basin/garden potting bench. Using mostly half laps and daddos/rebates on the mitre saw the ladies got to work. All were proud of their achievement and learned heaps too! Good job!

We held a resin workshop and it booked out very quickly, with a full compliment of other members interested too. So looks like a second workshop will need to be scheduled in our calendar soon. The ladies all enjoyed the activity, learning tips and tricks, how resin reacts and all the lovely colours and textures available.
