QCT is excited to share that we've been putting finishing touches on a new set of three short videos, designed to raise awareness within churches of domestic and family violence and to help Christians and Church Leaders respond well.

With subtitles in 16 languages, these new videos will present:
💜 a Victim-Survivor story, recounted by Carole Danby.
💜 a message to church leaders from Rev. Bruce Moore.
💜 a message about behaviour change from Dr Brian Sullivan.

The videos support our new DFV booklet, which substantially updates and expands upon earlier versions.

We're looking forward to launching all of these resources in good time for churches to use them during the 16Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 Nov - 10 Dec).

QCT's first Assembly in Cairns will take place on Saturday, 12 September 2026.

The Assembly is being hosted at the Greek Orthodox Church, including lunch at no cost to participants.

Simon Smart, Executive Director from the Centre for Public Christianity, is confirmed as the guest speaker.

QCT's goal in hosting this event in Cairns is to celebrate the wonderfully rich ecumenical life already present in the region and to bless local Christian leaders with an opportunity to worship together and fellowship with each other around what we believe will be some great food and a very engaging conversation.

Queensland Disaster Chaplaincy Network (QDCN) TRAINING

QDCN is pleased to announce we have received some more funding to roll out additional Disaster Chaplaincy Training!!!

CAIRNS, TOWNSVILLE, BRISBANE Nth, BRISBANE Sth, ROCKHAMPTON, REFRESHER TRAINING & MORE LOCATIONS TBA

The Queensland Disaster Chaplaincy Network is running disaster chaplaincy training for accredited chaplains and credentialed ministers. To take part in training, you will need to hold an ordination with your denomination or an accreditation with a recognised chaplaincy organisation.

The training takes place over two days. The first day covers Disaster Chaplaincy within the QLD context and the role of chaplains within recovery and evacuation centres. The second day focuses on trauma and the different effects disasters have on people. This official disaster chaplaincy training will enable you to be deployed to support people inside evacuation and recovery centres as deployed by local Councils and the State Government.

Training will run 9am - 4:30pm daily. Both days attendance is required to be deployed.

Conference - Saturday 3 October.
People from diverse faith groups, cultures and ecological sciences will meet in Melbourne to hear the cry of the Earth. Participants will listen, learn, reflect and grow in ecological consciousness together by hearing from experts and hearing responses from an interfaith panel, and collaborating further through various workshops.

Discover ways people of faith and the sciences can collaborate, guided by First Nations wisdom, to protect species and ecosystems before they disappear.

Lots of good dialogue takes place over food!
Last night members of the Anglican, Ukrainian Orthodox and Catholic communities in the Annerley, Yeronga, Moorooka, Salisbury areas got together over dinner at the Ukrainian Club in Holland Park. A great night!

The Anglican Communion Science Commission (ACSC) has set up a grant scheme for young leaders who want to engage with science and faith in their local context.

Funds will help projects that show how science and faith can be partners in tackling the great challenges of our time, in areas like the environment and health care, or new technologies such as AI.

In a fast-changing world, increasingly shaped by rapid developments in science and technology, the Science Commission hopes it will invest in the leadership and capabilities of the next generation.

The scheme is made possible with funding from the Templeton World Charity Foundation.

QCT is pleased to share that the Rockhampton Women’s Conference on Saturday, 29 August, will be an opportunity for women of all ages to learn about the restoration Jesus brings about in our everyday lives.

Keynote speaker Rev Zoe Browne (Gladstone Anglican Church) will share Biblical truths from the book of John, supported by interviews, music, food and fellowship.
