In our Rally life we have made life long friends, seen some of our most incredible outback communities and landscapes, adventures of a lifetime. We have had detours that were made up on the fly, outran storms, nearly floated away in our tent and the longest detour in Rally history. 2500km. Not to mention COVID stealing our Rally. Now who would have thought a war that is happening on the other side of the world would postpone us this time. Sh*tbox Rally Autumn 2026 is now happening in July. This gives us more time to raise those much needed funds. Our next deadline is April 3th. We are still needing $500. Firstly, let us introduce ourselves. My name is Louise Canning, My husband Greg and I have been lucky enough to be selected to participate in the 2020 Autumn "Sh*tbox Rally” which will be held in May 2020.
Sh*tbox Rally is an annual event dedicated to raising much needed funds to support cancer research. By getting out and doing something unique, positive and proactive, it brings an element of fun and excitement to the formidable task of raising money to cure this heartbreaking disease.
The Sh*tbox Rally is not a race, rather a challenge to achieve the unthinkable… To drive cars worth just $1,000 across Australia via some of the country’s most formidable roads, all in the name of charity. With that said we need to raise at least $5000 to participate. These funds go to the Cancer Council for much needed cancer research.
Many of us have been affected by cancer; whether through our parents, family, close friends, people we know, or even ourselves having battled this insidious disease. In every case the battle against cancer is a fight, a test of strength and courage for all involved. To this end, we not only want to raise awareness of, and much needed funds for The Cancer Council, but also to offer support and a friendly ear to those who have suffered and are still suffering.
This event is officially endorsed and supported by The Cancer Council.
Lou, Being a survivor herself, you can understand This cause is very close to not only our hearts, but my family and friends as well. In the past Lou have walked 60km for women’s cancer, we have drunk for prostate cancer on occasions too numerous to mention, and together, we drove over 5100km from Perth to Sydney via Uluru in Pearl, our car worth no more than $1000! This time in 2020 we will be driving in pearl from Alice Springs to the Gold Coast via the Gulf of Carpentaria.
We are seeking Donations, no matter how small or large to meet the entry criteria, and hopefully well beyond. We are also seeking Sponsorships to assist with the associated costs involved in completing this endeavour. As an example, goods and services such as essential spares, fuel, car transport costs to the start line on the other side of the country, and Tyres (let’s face it, a $1000 sh*tbox is unlikely to have a good set of boots ready to tackle some of the roughest roads on the planet!
