Dates for 2024 ADFRC (Nationals) are Wed 3rd - Sun 12th May in Sydney with the following planned:
ASRU 1994 UK Tour Reunion Dinner Fri 10th;
Single Service then combined Old Boys functions Sat 11th; and
Army v Navy Gala Day Sun 12th.
Venues to be confirmed so lock in diaries and get ready for a massive weekend.
The committee will provide details as they are confirmed.

SEQ Leopards Christmas Lunch will be held at The Normanby Hotel on Fri 15th Dec from noon.
This is a great opportunity to catch up after a big year with old friends and celebrate the year that was!
Spread the word and details to follow about payment and menu.
It would be great if other cities organised lunches with WhatsApp or FaceTime hookups throughout the afternoon.

Warning Order. For those in SEQ the Australian Army Rugby Old Boy Leopards Christmas in July Lunch has been locked in for Fri 28/7 with venue TBC (however close to city) from 12.30pm.
These events are never compulsory however as we get older they become more significant and necessary. Text message to follow with venue and payment details.
I’m sure others across this big brown land would like to do same.

Great Australian Army Rugby Old Boy Leopards catch up at the The Caxton Hotel last night prior to the QLD Reds v Auckland Blues fixture with Tom Berkley, Joseph Ellul and Murray John Harley.

Another successful Old Leopards fixture v Old Salts with the result ending up a 9-9 draw. Great mix of old, not so old and AARU staff making up the team with plenty of skills on display. The fixture is now played in the true spirit of rugby and thankfully no major injuries. John Frewen was awarded the Australian Army Rugby Old Boy Leopards Gelibolu Trophy for best on ground continuing the fine tradition of forwards winning this award.
Great support on the sideline for Australian Army Rugby Union who also defeated NAVY Rugby Union in both the men’s and women’s fixtures to be crowned ADFRU Champions again.
With Mark Rowe, Anthony Thomas, Murray John Harley, Spencer B Norris, Robert Shearman, Mark Fisher, Mike Ireland, Marie Bolton, Greg Ducie, GW Bd Guy Barnard, Owen Paulson, Shane Niddrie, Lewis West, Ben Rayward, Simon Small, Wayne Vonhoff, Steve Salmon, Ben Jones, Kevin Maloney, Adam David Nixon, Ricky Dumigan, Shawn Castle-Burns, Mickey Pye, Paddy Hallinan and Gordon Mitchell to name a few.
Thanks to RAN Old Salts for the bar service on the far side of the field. Brothers in Arms and much appreciated!
Prior to the ADFRU Function I had the pleasure on behalf of the Leopards to present the Jason Whitfield ‘Nugget’ Award to the best AARU player in camp that displayed the five ADF Values. The winner for 2023 was Jay Gee-Sea Josh Gray.

I had the pleasure of attending the Alec Evans testimonial at Wests Bulldogs Rugby with Australian Army Rugby Old Boy Leopards with Cameron Baker, Simon Small and Mark Rowe.
Alex was recently made a life member of RugbyAU after a stellar career as both player and coach. Alan Jones delivered a wonderful speech on his former Asst Coach Alex.
Alex has been a wonderful help for both Australian Army Rugby Union and Services Rugby over many years and toured Europe and Korea with AARU in 2007.

With a lack of appreciation for RSVP the venue has allowed us to cater for members and guests on the evening of the event so this means anyone who has missed the date can pay on the night.
We appreciate that discretionary spend and disposable income is tight however the opportunity to mix with members and former teammates should be a serious factor for consideration.
Our donation to Charity of Choice - Swiss 8 depends on it!
