What an inspiration Dolly Parton has been to all of us. Before she became “the Book Lady” to millions of children, she believed every child deserved the chance to fall in love with reading.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she collaborated with Rotary International to expand access to books and support young readers, one story at a time.

The program has delivered more than 23 million books to preschoolers in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States. A year ago, Parton’s organization and Rotary International teamed up to further the effort, which costs US$28 per child annually. More than 140 Rotary clubs participate.

Key Lessons Dolly Taught Us:

✨Optimism: Believe that anything is possible.
🥰 Kindness: Always be kind to one another.
📚Impact: Literacy truly changes lives and opens doors.

Mid-Week Myth Buster! 💡
Myth: "All Rotarians do is cook BBQs."
Busted! 🎉 While you might occasionally spot Rotarians behind a sausage sizzle, that's only a small part of what we do.

Rotary members are involved in everything from youth programs and mentoring to community projects, fundraising, disaster relief, environmental initiatives, and international humanitarian work. We support local schools, community groups, and charities while also contributing to projects that improve lives around the world.
The BBQ isn't the mission, it's simply one of many ways we raise funds and connect with our community.
Behind every sausage sizzle is a bigger purpose: creating opportunities, supporting those in need, and making a lasting difference.
Rotary isn't about cooking BBQs. It's about building stronger communities. 🌏🤝

Our members are busy professionals, parents, business owners, students, and community leaders. Some attend every event, while others contribute when their schedule allows. Every hour volunteered, every idea shared, and every helping hand makes a difference.
There are no requirements to attend everything. Rotary is flexible, and your level of involvement can change as life changes.
The real question isn't whether you have time for Rotary... it's whether you have time to make new friends, build connections, develop new skills, and make a positive impact in your community. 🌏🤝
Rotary fits into busy lives because service should be accessible to everyone.

Mid-Week Myth Buster! 💡
Myth: "Rotary is only for retired people."
Busted! 🎉 Rotary is for people of all ages and stages of life.

From Interact Clubs for high school students through to community-minded adults, Rotary offers opportunities to connect, grow, and make a difference. In our club, the average member age is around 45, with members ranging from their mid-20s to early 60s.
We're local people who live or work in the area, balancing Rotary alongside careers, families, businesses, studies, and other commitments. What brings us together is a shared desire to create positive change in our community while building lasting friendships.
Rotary isn't about age. It's about action. 🌏🤝
