Childhood Cancer Support is a one of a kind organisation providing homely and welcoming family accommodation for all regional families whose child is being treated for cancer. “Childhood Cancer Support kept our family together when our hearts were falling apart” says Mum Jess from the regional Queensland town of Clermont when she arrived at our family accommodation in January 2021. Childhood Cancer Support provides something that every family needs in a crisis – a home away from home for the whole family, transport to and from the hospital, a qualified Family Social Worker who provides counselling and mental health support to all members of the family. We provide a fully furnished and self-contained unit where the whole family can be together to provide love and support during a very traumatic time. Childhood Cancer Support is one of a kind – a family focused charity offering regional families a place to call home while their child is undergoing lifesaving cancer treatment in Brisbane. All cancers. No cost…..Ever.

2021 has been exciting for our organisation with the purchase of five additional houses in East Brisbane, close to the Queensland Children’s Hospital. We are realising our long term strategy to transition our accommodation for our families within walking distance from the hospital. This has been an exciting opportunity to work with local community groups and organisations to build a new home away from home for even more families in crisis. While our birthday may have passed, we’re continuing to celebrate this special milestone throughout our 50th year.

A big thank you to inspirational speaker and best-selling author Michael Crossland for sending his birthday wishes and helping us mark this incredible milestone.

Having experienced childhood cancer himself, Michael knows first hand just how important support can be for families navigating their child’s diagnosis and treatment.

Help us make Christmas a little more magical for families facing childhood cancer 🎄

Each year, the Childhood Cancer Support Family Christmas Party brings together our present and past paediatric oncology families for an afternoon of celebration, connection and plenty of Christmas cheer. 💛 This year, we’re looking for venue sponsors to help us create a special day where families can come together and make happy memories.

For families staying at Childhood Cancer Support, a home away from home is more than having a place to stay close to treatment. It's also sharing the journey with other families who understand the difficult days, celebrate the good ones and are there for each other through it all.

When families have to relocate to Brisbane for their child’s cancer treatment, being away from their own support networks can be incredibly difficult. That’s why creating a welcoming, supportive community has always been such an important part of what we do.

It’s one of the things that makes the Childhood Cancer Support community so special. 💛

Our challengers have assembled for the second 30 Unbroken training session. This group is training to prepare for 30 hours of unbroken physical challenges that will push them to their limit in aid of families facing childhood cancer. Free for all paediatric oncology families, it’s a chance to enjoy time together and connect with other families. Finger food is included, plus gifts from Santa for children under 16 💛
