Childhood Cancer Support

Childhood Cancer Support Visit us at www.ccs.org.au or call 07 38445000. When your child is diagnosed with cancer, everything else in life takes a backseat. All families. All children.

Childhood Cancer Support is a one of a kind organisation providing homely and welcoming family accommodation for all regional families whose child is being treated for cancer. “Childhood Cancer Support kept our family together when our hearts were falling apart” says Mum Jess from the regional Queensland town of Clermont when she arrived at our family accommodation in January 2021. Childhood Cance

r Support provides something that every family needs in a crisis – a home away from home for the whole family, transport to and from the hospital, a qualified Family Social Worker who provides counselling and mental health support to all members of the family. We provide a fully furnished and self-contained unit where the whole family can be together to provide love and support during a very traumatic time. Childhood Cancer Support is one of a kind – a family focused charity offering regional families a place to call home while their child is undergoing lifesaving cancer treatment in Brisbane. All cancers. No cost…..Ever.

2021 has been exciting for our organisation with the purchase of five additional houses in East Brisbane, close to the Queensland Children’s Hospital. We are realising our long term strategy to transition our accommodation for our families within walking distance from the hospital. This has been an exciting opportunity to work with local community groups and organisations to build a new home away from home for even more families in crisis. Does your organisation have any ideas about how you would like to work with us to build hope, security and support for Australian families fighting childhood cancer? If so, please contact us on 07 3844 5000 or www.ccs.org.au

The reason we exist 💛

Fifty years ago, a group of parents and medical professionals saw a need that couldn't be ignored. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, families from regional, rural and remote Queensland are often forced to leave everything behind and relocate to Brisbane for treatment.

For the past 50 years, we've provided a home away from home, practical support and a caring community so families can focus on what matters most - being together.

As we celebrate this milestone, we're looking back at where it all began, honouring the families who inspired our purpose, and celebrating the community that has helped us continue that mission for five decades.
