🔥 Making Waves in the North: The Blister Sisters

From early days at Kokoda Pool to competing side by side at Nationals, Townsville sisters Robyn and Colleen are back in the water and loving it.

What started as a return for the soul has turned into a powerful comeback, with open water challenges, pool racing, and medals along the way.

From Jaws fears to the Magnetic Island swim, their journey is equal parts grit, humour and determination.

Making headlines in Townsville! 📰✨

Great to see our 2026 MSQ State Championships featured in the Townsville Bulletin, highlighting the excitement building for our 50-year celebrations and a fantastic showcase for Masters swimming in North Queensland. 🏊‍♀️

With 300+ swimmers set to head north, this is shaping up to be a truly special swim meet – from pool racing to open water and a milestone masquerade celebration 🎭

A big thank you to Bert Collyer, Maggie Georgopoulos, Gaby Donnelly and JB (pictured) for their efforts in promoting and helping deliver this fantastic event in North Queensland 👏

☕💛 Sinkers Making a Difference!

The North Mackay Sinkers hosted their 2nd annual Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea on Saturday 13 June at the Memorial Pool — and what a fantastic morning it was!

With plenty of fun, connection and delicious treats, the event raised just over $2,200 for Cancer Council Queensland 👏

Combined with last year’s effort, the Sinkers have now raised an impressive $4,200 across two years 💛

A huge well done to everyone involved for supporting such an important cause!

🏊‍♂️ TOOWOOMBA MASTERS SHORT COURSE MEET WRAP-UP 🏊‍♀️

What a fantastic day of racing, friendship and fun at the 2026 Toowoomba Masters Short Course Meet!

Despite a late venue change, more than 110 swimmers from Queensland and interstate made the trip up the Range to enjoy a successful day of competition, camaraderie and great hospitality.

Highlights included:
🏅 4 Queensland records and 1 National record
🏆 Club trophies awarded to Hervey Bay and Commercial Club
🏊 A successful trial of the 400m event
👏 Outstanding support from volunteers, officials and host club members
🍽️ Plenty of food and plenty of smiles!
