We have now sent handouts of the sessions presented at Connections 2025 to all delegates by email. These will be available via password-protected pages on the conference website as per instructions in your email. We'd also like to remind you to return your conference surveys by April 4.

What a wonderful, engaging Connections 2025 conference we had last weekend! All delegates, exhibitors and sponsors will now have received a conference survey. Connections 2025 is here! It’s been two years in planning and now Australasia’s biggest family history gathering in decades opens tomorrow at Brisbane Technology Park, 1 Clunies Ross Court, Eight Mile Plains, March 21-24. A big, warm Brisbane welcome to all delegates, speakers, sponsors and supporters from around the world – let’s make it a great conference!

Coming along to Connections 2025 with South Australian ambassador Anna Graves will be Hamish, the mascot of the South Australian graduates of the Diploma of Family History. Hamish is named after Professor Hamish Maxwell-Stewart, who was the course lecturer and one of our special guest speakers and Master Class presenter. Anna is looking forward to Hamish meeting Professor Hamish and grabbing and autograph and a selfie. Only a few days now everyone ... what are you looking forward to?

Ambassador’s pick! Queensland ambassador Fran Kitto is most excited to attend UK historian Nick Barratt’s sold-out Master Class on “Researching and writing your family history” (8am, Saturday, March 22) but as she’s heard him speak several times, recommends his presentation “When Harry Met Dotty” as he explores the quest to find to uncover his illegitimate grandmother’s parentage (12pm, Friday, March 21). Ambassador’s pick! For NSW ambassador, amateur genealogist Jill Ball and novice One Place Study researcher, is looking forward to attending Belinda Daly’s session “Connecting Social History, local history and family history on St Helena Island” (11am, Friday, March 21) where she hopes to learn about resources and strategies to tame the mass of information she is collecting about her place, Carey Bay. Jill’s own presentation, “The Thoughtful Ancestor” (3pm, Sunday, March 23) will help guide family historians in making decisions to ensure their work is preserved for future generations.
