When Toastmasters becomes more than speaking🩷

Last night, we did something different. A special guest came to us with a request. She wanted to practise her wedding speech for her daughter’s big day and we were honoured to help.
Watching her deliver her speech to our supportive , welcoming community was genuinely lovely. She left our club feeling confident, relaxed, and ready to make her daughter’s wedding day even more special.
We also celebrated a milestone! Big congratulations to some of our members who completed a level🏆

Table topics: The secret superpower? 🎤

John, our president gave an informative presentation on table topics😊
Here’s the thing: Table topics is where real magic happens. No preparation time, no crutches, just you and your voice. It’s the fastest way to discover what you’re truly capable of.

We also officially inducted our newest member Nicky last night. Welcome Nicky 🩷 We also had the pleasure of hosting Emilio, an international visitor from Toastmasters.

Another Amazing Night🎉

Last night was a blast! We welcomed three visitors to Kenmore Toastmasters.

Highlights included Alexa nailing her first icebreaker speech👏and Libby’s twist on pass the parcel game that had everyone engaged. Jill won the game and delivered a hilarious victory speech that had us all laughing!
Every single speech given was a pleasure to listen to. But here’s what really impressed us, the courage it took to step up and deliver those speeches. A special shout out to all toasties who feel those nerves before stepping up and yet do it anyway and absolutely master those fears💪🎉

15 Years Strong!🎉🎉🎉

What an incredible evening celebrating 15 years of Kenmore Toastmasters!

Fifteen years of voices finding their confidence, of people standing up and being brave enough to share their stories. We are such a colourful, curious and courageous group, always willing to step outside our comfort zone and be authentic🧐
Tonight we celebrated what makes this club truly special; the courage to share pieces of ourselves with people who care, the diversity of experiences and perspectives we bring and the supportive community we’ve built together😊
Thank you to every member, past and present, who has made Kenmore Toastmasters the vibrant, welcoming place it is today😎

Congratulations Rebecca & Welcome Alexa 🎉🐾

Huge congratulations to Rebecca on taking on the Toastmasters role for the first time! You absolutely nailed it Rebecca👏 Rebecca’s chosen theme, “Lessons from a Dog,” had us all smiling and sharing heartwarming stories about our furry friends.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming Alexa as our newest member! We’re so excited to have you join the Kenmore Toastmasters family!💙

It was a lovely evening filled with tales of our beloved pets and the wisdom they bring to our lives. Who knew our four legged friends had so much to teach us about joy, loyalty and living in the moment🐕🦴🐾

Welcome to the club, Coco🎩⭐️

We’re thrilled to welcome Coco to the Kenmore Toastmasters family! We absolutely love her enthusiasm and energy- she is already fitting right in!
Monday night was a great evening. Not only did we welcome Coco, but we had a wonderful evening exploring the theme “The many hats we wear.”
And of course, we couldn’t resist taking the theme literally!🤣Members showed up wearing their favourite and quirkiest hats, adding an extra dose of fun and laughter to the evening.

It’s moments like these that remind us why we love Toastmasters. It’s not just about improving our speaking skills, it’s about being part of a community.

Welcome aboard Coco. We can’t wait to see all the amazing contributions you’ll bring to the club.

What a Night! Interclub Cartoon Debate🎤🎨
Thursday night was absolutely hilarious as Kenmore Toastmasters hosted a fun filled interclub challenge with a twist!
The debate theme: The most iconic cartoon character of all time.

Each club passionately argued the case for their chosen character and the energy in the room was contagious. Here’s how it went down:
🐾 Chelmer championed the beloved Snoopy. 💭Indooroopilly raced in with Road Runner. 🩷Serendipity made the case for the Road Runner 😽Kenmore defended the lasagna loving Garfield.

The arguments were creative, the rebuttals were witty and there was a lot of laughter. It was lovely to see members from different clubs come together for a light hearted evening of friendly competition.
Now for the big question. Can you guess who won the debate? 🏆

🎉Welcome to the family, Svetlana🎉

On Monday, we had the pleasure of inducting our newest member! We’re thrilled to have you join our Toastmasters community, Svetlana. We know that you are going to love being part of this supportive and inclusive group!💙
A big shout out to Jill, who served as our Toastmaster for the evening and took us on a fascinating journey exploring the darker origins of fairy tales, all the way through to the more lighthearted versions we’ve come to know and love from Walt Disney. What an intriguing theme⭐️
