Project Update 🚑 First Aid in Schools!

Through a QCoal Foundation Community Spirit Grant, St John Queensland has connected with more than 100 schools across Central and Western Queensland, helping to raise awareness of the free First Aid in Schools program and the importance of life-saving education for young people.

The project has sparked strong interest from regional schools, distributed valuable first aid resources, and built a strong pipeline for future program delivery, with many schools already exploring participation opportunities for 2026-27 🙌

Our 2026 QCoal Foundation Scholarship recipient, Priya Taylor-Sidhu, is going from strength to strength! 🏥

After a busy first semester settling into life at JCU: James Cook University, Australia, Priya has successfully completed her very first placement – right back in her hometown of Emerald 👩‍⚕️🌾 Emerald Medical Group

Making the transition to university is a huge achievement in itself, and we're so proud to see Priya embracing every opportunity, building her skills, and taking important steps towards her future career.

We look forward to continuing to support Priya throughout her studies and can't wait to see the positive impact she'll make in regional and remote Queensland in the years ahead. 👏 Congratulations, Priya - keep up the fantastic work!

🦷✈️ “Everyone should have access to high quality oral healthcare, regardless of where they live” - Dr Dilley, RFDS Principal Dental Advisor.

At QCoal Foundation, we’re proud to be a Founding Donor of the RFDS Dental Service, helping bring vital oral healthcare to rural and remote communities where access to a dentist can be incredibly challenging 💙

Last financial year alone, the service treated 2,514 patients across 17 locations, providing everything from check-ups and fillings to extractions and preventative care. We’re proud to support this important initiative and the positive impact it continues to have on the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders, no matter how far 😁

In remote communities, access to hands-on learning opportunities is often limited. This project helps ensure all children - no matter how remote - can connect, explore, and build valuable skills for the future 🌱
