It's our favourite week of the year 🌟 Queensland Philanthropy Week 🌟 and we've been busy making the most of it!

So far this week, we’ve explored what sustainable change looks like in regional communities with Ready Communities and joined the conversation about transforming remote communitites through volunteering with Frontier Services. We also enjoyed engaging with our philanthropic peers at Perpetual Limited and Philanthropy Australia's Philanthropic Breakfast ☕🌱🤝

Thank you to Queensland Gives for all of the work that goes into such an impactful and important week 👏 We look forward to continue the celebrations tomorrow at the Queensland Philanthropy Awards with our fellow finalists, partners and friends!

We are delighted to announce Murroona Gardens has been awarded a QCoal Foundation Community Spirit Grant for their new digital communication project!

Queensland Philanthropy Week is here! 🎉

This week is all about celebrating the incredible impact of giving across our state and the organisations, partners and communities that make it possible 💙 The week began with a fantastic launch at Queensland Parliament House where change-makers came together to celebrate and look ahead to the future of giving in Queensland.

We’re excited for the connection, learning and momentum this week will bring, and are especially looking forward to the 2026 Queensland Philanthropy Awards. Being named a finalist in the Innovation category is a true honour, and we can’t wait to celebrate alongside the many inspiring foundations and individuals making a difference across our state.

Grant Announcement! Cooking Up Confidence at Bowen Flexi Care Inc. 💛

We’re proud to support Bowen Flexi Care’s 'Cooking with QCoal Foundation' program through a Community Spirit Grant!

This fantastic weekly program brings participants together every Wednesday to build essential life skills and enjoy a nutritious meal with friends. Each session also provides a recipe to take home, helping participants continue their cooking journey with confidence 👩‍🍳🍳

The grant will fund ingredients and kitchen essentials over a 12-week period, removing the $5 participation fee that can be a significant barrier for participation.

Programs like this make a real difference - supporting people living with disability to develop practical skills, boost confidence, and stay engaged in their community. We can't wait to see what our 'Nacho Average Chefs' will be cooking up! 🌮✨

QCoal Foundation was delighted to bring together our donors, partners and supporters at our Philanthropy Week Reception last night to share updates from our year of giving and the impact we’re creating for regional Queenslanders 💙

From inspiring updates from the Re-ACT CQ program in partnership with Act for Kids, to a thought-provoking grant panel featuring Elise Woodhouse from Bowen Flexi Care Inc., Luella Widt from Collinsville Youth Coalition - C*C and Rob Filby from Cystic Fibrosis Queensland, together we were inspired by the power of innovative, community-based support to create lasting change for communities across the state.

The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, connection and celebration - serving as an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved together and look ahead to all that's possible in the future 🙌

Grant support for Bowen State High School's new Hydration Station Project! 💧

QCoal Foundation is proud to award Bowen State High School with a Community Spirit Grant to help deliver a modern outdoor chilled water cooler and bottle refill station in the school’s undercover area.

This much-needed installation will benefit not only students during HPE lessons and sports carnivals, but also the many local sporting clubs who regularly use the school’s facilities on afternoons and weekends. With easy access to cool, filtered drinking water, students and community members can stay hydrated and safe - especially in the Queensland heat! 🏃‍♂️☀️

The project also promotes sustainability by encouraging reusable bottles and features wheelchair-accessible design for inclusivity. Congrats Bowen State High School! 👏
