St Johns Wood Scouts Our boys and girls range from age 5 to 25. We’re located in Ashgrove West, Brisbane, Australia.

The World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is the largest international Scouting organisation. Its 171 members are recognised national Scout organisations, which collectively have over 50 million participants. St Johns Wood Scouts is, in order, in:

Knight Moves - 25-26 July 2026
Leaders’ point of view

This night activity starts on Saturday morning with the setting up of camp and an instructional rehearsal. During this time the Leaders set up their bases.

Parade, dinner, staggered departures, patrols get 10 minutes on base. The best results get to ring the big bell before heading off to the next base.

1am, all Patrols have returned, the Leaders go to sleep before a breakfast in the cold morning and packing up the base.

Tonight we’re Rogaining.
It involves both route planning and a 60-minute navigation between checkpoints in a small team.

The key difference between Rogaining and Orienteering is that in Orienteering, you must visit all checkpoints in a specific order to finish in the shortest time; whereas in Rogaining, you
choose your own route and visit the checkpoints you want in any order to maximise your score.
