First year UQ MD students! Ever wondered what it’s like to be a rural doctor? Are you keen to hone your clinical skills and discover more about rural health? Then the TREES observership is for you!
The TROHPIQ TREES program offers a select number of first-year UQ MD students the opportunity to spend 2 weeks immersed in real rural practice across West, Central and South Queensland. You’ll be working in a mix of hospital and GP clinic settings alongside your mentors, which include experienced rural generalist doctors, nurses and allied health staff. You will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on exposure to rural medicine that you don’t find anywhere else.
Placements run from November 30th to December 11th. Students are typically sent out in pairs or small groups.
An information session will be held on June 22nd. Applications open on the same day.
Stay tuned for further details to be released in the coming weeks!
