Congratulations to our incredible volunteer, Ingrid, who was recognised this week with a Local Hero Award alongside 12 other locals from the Tennyson and Moorooka Wards!

As a long-standing volunteer at OCCA's Native Plant Nursery, Ingrid generously gives her time with dedication, kindness, and unwavering reliability. From helping grow thousands of native plants for local restoration projects to supporting new volunteers and community events, Ingrid's quiet commitment has made a lasting impact on both our environment and community.

Thank you, Ingrid, for everything you do. This recognition is so very well deserved!

🌿 A big thank you to everyone who joined us at Greenbank for our Vine W**d Management Workshop 🌿

It was a fantastic morning of learning and hands-on experience, with an expert bush regenerator from Oxley Creek Catchment Association’s (OCCA) Biodiversity Services team and Logan City Council's Environmental Officer sharing practical techniques to tackle invasive vines like Cat’s Claw Creeper and Dutchman’s Pipe.

Together, we explored effective, holistic approaches to protecting native vegetation and improving the health of Upper Oxley Creek.

We appreciate everyone who came along to be part of the solution — your efforts help strengthen our local ecosystems and preserve our natural landscapes 💚

This workshop was proudly supported through the Upper Oxley Creek Vine W**d Management grant, funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments, The City of Logan, and delivered by The City of Logan, Resilient Rivers SEQ, and the Oxley Creek Catchment Association as part of the SEQ City Deal.
