🎨 Congratulations to Jonathan! 🎉

We’re delighted to celebrate Jonathan, a valued participant in our Art for All group, whose artwork 2 Dingos has been featured in the Recovered Futures Exhibition.

Working in acrylic on canvas, Jonathan’s piece reflects his love of Australia’s unique fauna and flora. His artistic style draws inspiration from renowned artists such as Van Gogh, Matisse and Gauguin, as well as Surrealism and Aboriginal art. His work is simple in style yet powerful in its message, capturing his appreciation for the beauty of our country.

Jonathan began painting in 1990 as a way to cope with personal challenges, boredom and feelings of loneliness. What began as a creative outlet has grown into a meaningful artistic journey. Over time, Jonathan has developed his own distinctive style and grown in confidence as an artist.

Through his connection with the Art for All group at Mt Gravatt Community Centre, Jonathan has found a welcoming and supportive creative community where he can continue to develop his skills, share his work and enjoy the benefits of artistic expression.

We’re incredibly proud to see Jonathan’s talent, creativity and dedication recognised in this exhibition. His achievement is a wonderful reminder of the power of art to inspire, build connections and create opportunities for personal growth.

Congratulations, Jonathan, on this fantastic achievement! We look forward to seeing your artistic journey continue. 👏🖼️

🍎👩‍🍳 NEST Cooking Classes for Seniors 👩‍🍳🍎

We’ve been so lucky to take part in another NEST (Nutrition Education Skills and Training) cooking classes designed especially for seniors at the Mt Gravatt Community Centre. 💚

Over the sessions, participants have been learning how to prepare a range of healthy, nutritious and delicious meals, while also building confidence in the kitchen and enjoying the opportunity to connect with others. 🥗🍲

A huge thank you to our wonderful dietitian from OzHarvest, who has shared her knowledge, tips and recipes with the group, and to all the amazing volunteers who have generously given their time and support. Your help has made these sessions possible!

It’s been fantastic to see five of our Ways to Wellness clients getting involved, trying new things, sharing a meal and enjoying the social side of cooking together. 💕👩‍🍳

We’re very grateful to everyone who has helped make NEST such a positive experience for our community! 🌱
