Show and Tell today was a lesson in adaptability and creativity. Graham spent many hours on an intricate design with 8 layers only to find the pattern was at fault for the top two layers - but working with others he is considering all possibilities. It is stunning.

At Show and Tell today we saw two items that are truly ‘above and beyond’. Firstly, Geertruda showed us her bowl/dish made from Huon Pine and completely hand carved bowl with all hand tools. It was so precise and had an incredibly smooth finish. Just beautiful.
Ken showed us a large red cedar bowl, where he is experimenting in introducing colour - can’t wait to see the finished product.

Show and Tell today featured Ken. Ken explained how he turned the bowl we featured last week, then he showed us an another bowl he turned and lastly a myrtle threaded lidded box. All stunning, so lucky to have such talented people in our club.

Ken featured at Show and Tell today with two very different bowls. Firstly he showed us a bowl made from Tasmanian oak where the pattern goes both ways. Beautiful grain and excellent finish!
The second bowl he showed us, he named ‘Insanity’ mainly because it was a challenge to see if he could do it. The result is stunning, made from Hairy Oak, the grain, the colour and the different textures make the bowl truly outstanding.

Michael shared the work he is doing and showed us his carved flowers. Peter showed us his 3D printer template to use on the router for making spatulas. Peter also talked about his mini metal lathe and shared with us what he uses it for.
