Show and Tell today saw three highly talented people share their work and their knowledge. First up was Kerry who focussed on how important inspiration is to the work he does. He showed us a little bowl made from Sheoak with an embellished coral look. Then he showed us a unique bowl made from Brazilian Cedar from a tree he grew in his own backyard. He also showed us an unfinished jacaranda bowl which is going to be finished by carving a tropical scene on it - can’t wait to see it.
Next up was Michael who led us astray with a story of a reunion of old mates and a photo he took of them and framed - you got us! Nice frame!
Finally Maz got up and was promoting wood and the October sale which generated some interest from members.

Another fabulous Show and Tell today with Michael telling us a little bit about the spangled drongo bird and then showing us his amazing drongo bird that he carved out of lime wood.
Apparently these birds go to the same tree as last year after they come back from their winter sojourn in the tropics. Check out the beautiful painting on the wings..
Then Shirley showed us the work she has been doing with jacaranda. She made two beautiful jewellery boxes for her granddaughters and made a stunning wedding keepsake for their son who is getting married soon. How lovely for her family to have such treasured keepsakes - well done!

This week at Show and Tell we saw two members, both named John, present the projects they have worked on.
John P showed us his amazing Silky Oak crocodile and the bow waves as it moves through the water. The crocodile looked so real, painted and with all of the ridges along its back - such talent!
John G showed us not just his tree with animals but also the tools he used to make it. The animals were made from 1.5mm wood and he used wood that was the same colour as the animal. Each animal had a least 2 types of wood, absolutely fantastic work and a brilliant outcome. Thanks for sharing!

At Show and Tell this week Kerry showed us his first item made on the clubs’ lathes, after his downsizing his home workshop.
It is a lovely natural edge, Mulberry burl bowl. Thanks Kerry it is just beautiful.

Show and Tell this week was another beauty! John’s carved ‘shell’ in camphor laurel is absolutely stunning.
Michael’s etching is mounted on ironwood and it looks spectacular.
Bob has again contributed to the club with his completed segment cutting jig made specifically for the Saw Stop table saw. Thank you Bob, we appreciate your contributions to our club.

Our third woodworker from this week’s Show and Tell is Michael D,
Michael has made an amazing axe and stand with pyrography and etching on what was a rusty axe head.
Then he shared three pyrography portraits, just amazing.

At Show and Tell this week we had three amazing woodworkers sharing their projects. Ken with his hollow vase, the wood is Tassie Blackwood. He had a request for it to be 2 shelves high; he was not sure how high this would be, so he made a stand to give it extra height if needed.
His 2nd show and tell is his Jacaranda vessel, that we have seen in previous posts as he worked on it. This is painted, the bottom is still to be finished.

Isn’t it great when members get together to collaborate on a project. This week Michael brought in a table he was given and he asked members for advice on what he could do with it. Hope the ‘brains trust’ were able to help.
